Slough Borough Council included victims of a gruesome murder spree committed just eleven years ago in an historic 'murder walk' they organsised for the Berkshire town.

Three people were brutally murdered by Alan Hobbs - 30-year-old charity worker Gillian Harvey and her friends, Peter Smith, 31, and Ian Brown, 36.

The detective who led the investigations said it was the worst crime scene he had ever been to in 29 years on the force. Hobbs was on the run for weeks, leaving the local community in a state of fear.

The council has now removed the recent murders from the walk and apologised for their lapse in judgement.
