One of the most important events in 20th-century history may have been taking place around her, but that did not stop Angela Merkel from honouring a weekly appointment in the steam room.

    • Not suprising, she's a politician! while the rest of our lives go through amazing changes and terrible sadness, their lives continue on the same wheel of money power, corruption and greed

Yeah, only she wasn't a politician then, she was a physicist, and it was a sauna within East Germany, not exactly a top-class spa. Perhaps you should actually know something about the person before you pass your amazing judgement upon them.

Politician or not, she still obviously didn't feel strongly enough about taking part in the action with the berlin wall, must not have bothered her too much how her country thinks and feels to join in with bringing down the wall, politicians lack morals, and they obviously lack these morals before they become politicians, and well, to become prime minister/president of a country you really have to sell yourself out.

gee thanks, didn't know my judgement was that amazing!

Yeah, I may have replied a bit strongly, but it just annoys me that everyone seems justified to constantly harass the politicians. Seems like they are a bit of an easy target, surprising considering it is the public who elect them who seem to loathe them so much. Just seemed a cheap shot.

Don't worry I am always too quick to judge, especially if it's a politician! I've never voted in my life and never will until their is a politician i deem fit enough, but in my eyes they all work for the bankers and corporations that lobby and help their campaigns to get them into power.
And you're right, they are the easy targets for us all to rip into, but that's kind of because most of these corporations that I hate so much are faceless, so it's easier to direct my hatred at politicians, who know what they are doing yet lie to the country's faces.
