This scene is absolutely beautiful, in a sadly haunting way. The black&white picture reminds me of something like Through a Glass Darkly, the way the photographer has captured the misty tableau. The shading, the focus into the background...just perfect. This photograph is like the heart of very deep and dark waters, so vast in its loneliness. It's the work of a miniaturist soaring into the realm of the epic. Wonderful.
