NANCY HECHE HOMOSEXUALITY BOOK X390

Nancy Heche, the mother of actress Anne Heche, has coedited and helped write a 500-page antigay book called The Complete Christian Guide to Understanding Homosexuality.

Joe.My.God. reports via Patrick Fitzgerald at Ex-Gay Watch:

“Joe Dallas and Nancy Heche are listed as the general editors. Though most of the book is written by Joe Dallas and Nancy Heche, contributing authors are listed as Alan Chambers, Paul Copan, Melisa Fryrear, Mike Haley, Bill Maier, and Randy Thomas. All of whom, with the exception of Paul Copan (to my knowledge), are or were speakers at Love Won Out conferences.”

Love Won Out is run by Exodus International, the Christian group focused on “liberation” from homosexuality.

In 2006, Heche published an antigay book, The Truth Comes Out, about her life with a closeted husband and her daughter, Anne Heche, who had a highly publicized relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. Nancy Heche's husband died of AIDS in 1983.

When Anne and Ellen went public with their relationship in the late '90s, Nancy Heche said, “It's like a betrayal of an unspoken vow: We will never have anything to do with homosexuals.”

    • ...Nancy needs some serious counselling...her husband died, and that is tragic, but her loss has morphed into fear and hatred of ALL homosexuals...and that is even more tragic...sigh...

Ah, but she never WAS a lesbian. She either was -- and therefore is -- a bisexual, or she had such an intense crush on Ellen that she decided to "try it out." I tend to believe she's a bisexual.

And there's no such thing as not "being" a lesbian "any longer," for gawd's sake.

    • Aren't most people who are violently homophobic usually afraid of being homosexual themselves?

This would also explain why, as UtopianSky said, all the most prominent anti-gay media heads seem to have a homosexual somewhere in the nuclear family.

    • Actually the title needs to be changed to, The Complete Intolerant Christian Guide To Paranoid Homophobia. And please, can some please stop lumping all Christians into their pidgeon holes as if we are all the same? We aren't, it's only the intolerant ignorant ones who seem to be getting all of the attention.

    • Wow , the tag line on that book: "the Biblical and Compassionate response to same sex attraction"

      1. You would think the Biblical response would actually be in the Bible.
      2. Anyone who disowns their own daughter, doesn't know what Compassion is.

    • It seems every prominent anti-gay politician, minister or author has a gay son, daughter or sibling, yet they STILL don't learn squat.

Her experiences with her husband and daughter should have taught her that people are just born this way, and they cannot change who they are to please her.

    • The part about having nothing to do with homosexuals slay me. You think it has something to do with the fact that your husband preferred men to you and your daughter stuck it in you with a total public humiliation in front of your aniti gay buddies?
