Deadliest Journeys: Mexico

sylviaw
Every year, more than a million people from central America travel thousands of miles attempting to reach the promised land: the US. It's a journey fraught with danger. Jumping onto moving trains, they run the risk of being killed or severely mutilated should they fall. We follow two young Salvadorians, Jaime and Lupita, who are eloping to Texas. Theirs is an emotional rollercoaster, full of hope and fear, as they dodge border police, brave robbers and rapists and face the journey's hardships.

    • 2 things I want to say, 1 - wot a genius idea, cross the river on a inflatable crocodile! Fantastic, who would have thought. 2 - did they all cross the river and into US, what happened next? It ends on the cliffhanger and it's annoying. anybody know what happened to that couple?

    • i'm somewhat torn here. i am an ex-cali resident, but bailed on the state almost five years ago. what caught my attention are the corrupted-to-hell federales who will let anyone off-the-hook if they get bribed with cash. they just don't care about upholding their country's own laws. but also, why the hate for the the narrator when he refers to the el salvadoreans as 'illegals'? is that not what they are? i understand why they are sneaking into california, but it still doesn't make it right does it? somebody has to pay their welfare checks, etc. but why not flip this in reverse? if i (as an american) were to illegally sneak into el salvador, or mexico... would their citizens be warm, inviting, and welcoming to me? tell me i'm wrong.

First, a person cannot be a crime. A person's actions may be, but not their very existence. Second, it's actually not a crime to be an unauthorized immigrant or worker. It's currently a civil violation, not a federal crime.

Lastly, undocument immigrants cannot receive public assistance. If they have U.S. children, they can on behalf of those children, but that is it. Even lawful permanent residents are barred from public assistance.

    • Jeeez, I must be really naive. Is it really that much better here in the USA?. I guess I only need to take a look at how comfortable my lifestyle is, and I'll get the answer to that question.

Well let's see, they cross international borders illegally, squat on stranger's property, loiter, imbibe in unauthorized hitchhike of freight trains and they bribe law enforcement. Sounds like illegals to me! What would you call them, stellar citizens? They don't look all that desperate to me. They have clean teeth, clothes, they're not emaciated, they ate tons of pizza at guest homes (a luxury meal by some standards)

Condoms and family planning would be good here. But no, no one wants to talk about that.

If they're illegal immigrants, they're illegal immigrants, get over it. And quite frankly the narrators voice is much "prettier" than your ugly tits... :)

    • This narrator is a biased asshole. He only refers to them as illegals instead of just calling them people. He overstates how the actions of illegals are highly illegal, about ten times - I guess based on his fucking fagot scale he pulled out of his ass.
