When you watch our show every day, you know we regularly have members of Congress in the studio, and Bill always says that they “stop by our studio on the way to work.” That’s literally what happens, which is what is so cool. Our studio is seven blocks from the U.S. Capitol, and our regular visitors note how easy it is to pop in during their commute in and how relaxed and casual our atmosphere is.
You’ll notice Bill never wears a tie, which the senators and congressman notice too — but you’ll never see them take their tie off! I suppose it’s all about keeping up appearances. Several of them will lose their jacket before stepping into the studio, perhaps hoping to seem a little more “casual.”
And then there’s me, in my madras shorts and polo shirt. As a producer, every day is casual Friday!
