Bill is fired up about the heat wave sweeping parts of the country and the lack of coverage from the mainstream media that links global warming with the record heat. Joe Romm, editor of Climate Progress, weighs in with Bill on the matter. Says Romm, “My guess is that next year will probably be the hottest year on record.” He points out that “it’s important when we talk about it to not say ‘global warming caused this heat wave,’” explaining that the effect is “more like an athlete on steroids — it makes every home run longer and it means more total.”
