Skipper Paul takes his longline fishing boat, the South Seas, out in the wake of a terrible storm in hopes of making up for lost time, but when the vessel’s ice machine suddenly breaks down the crew is at a loss—without ice, they can’t keep a single fish they catch. Meanwhile, the deckhands of the Angelica watch nervously as their skipper gambles with their wages by holding out for better prices at a fish market auction.
