    • The most ironic (and irritating) thing about yogurt ads targeting women is the "breast cancer research" paradox. Why ironic and paradoxical? Because DAIRY consumption increases your odds of getting breast cancer! It's like Marlboro running ads about curing lung cancer.

    • Oh god, this was brilliant. I happened upon this segment on TV halfway through and it cracked me up, had to find it on the site to show around the house. We're always laughing at those ridiculous commercials. I think Target:Women is freaking hilarious. I'll definitely be checking back for more Sarah-good-times~

    • hahaha! "Say more stuff I generically relate to!" Yogurt ads are scary!!

My friend and I have always been saying, "This is 'favorite song on the radio!' Good!" to everything for a few years now, and everyone thinks we are crazy.

    • That was hilarious! I sent this link to my wife, and I'm sure she will get a kick out of it too.

They market this yogurt as being healthy for you, and it's loaded with sugar (high fructose corn syrup). It's literally impossible to find a naturally sweetened yogurt without going to a specialty store. You want better digestion, try removing high fructose corn syrup out of your diet. And don't get me started on how nasty this stuff tastes compared to water buffalo yogurt.

The buffalo yogurt is actually very delicious. I just can't find it anymore in the US because the company in Vermont went out of business. There's another company in Vermont (website http://bufaladivermont.com/), but I don't know where they are supplying their yogurt yet.

I don't know if anyone has actually proved the dangers of HFCS or not, but a quick google search came up with this article (http://www.westonaprice.org/motherlinda/cornsyrup.html). The author of the article makes a good point. Companies refuse to use HFCS in baby food; wonder why?

Basically, it comes down to the companies wanting to make the product cheaper, and therefore they don't use sweeteners like honey or even cane sugar. I guess I am losing my sweet tooth as I get older, but I would really like to be able to buy a yogurt that is either unsweetened or barely sweetened. The fruit should be sweet enough! Look at the back of one of those yogurt containers; they contain about the same amount of sugar as a Coca Cola (50 g).

right on you're so right it's really unhealthy in most cases in my opinion i think its always unhealthy because i think dairy not from the same species is gross and unnatural but anyway im in the minority about that haha but anyway yes it is true about all the sugar and artificial colors articial flavors weird preservatives high fructose corn syrup and oh my gosh imagine eating the marketed stuff every day like a lot of these companies want you do, imagine how bad that actually is for your body. there are other ways of getting good probiotics in your system. also there is such a thing as very occasionally eating yogurt. and yes, this was hilarious, isn't haskins great? haha i sent this link to my husband like you sent it to your wife- he later came home and it was so funny he had been eating yogurt for lunch he said! i never eat it if that isn't obvious but haha im not going to judge him or anyone else for it. i was like "hey do you feel like a WOMAN now?" and we both laughed. lol haha stupid stupid commercials. its funny like all the food they target at men i like and he doesn't and al the food they target at women he likes and i don't haha.

    • I never try Activia, that's very popular also here in Italy because, like in America, has and ads with a very famous show-woman. But every body who try it say that they are not good at all!!!!
      So eat something else, please!!!

    • I'll never forget this pair, driving down some random Route-66-esque highway. The white woman sings, "Favorite-song-on-the-radio-goooooooooooooooooooooodddd!!!"

THAT started it all w/ this Yoplait saga between these two. Am I dating myself?

Anyway, sick of these lousy ads, and I wrote Yoplait and told them as much--a few months ago. I told them some women are sick of this ish, and it's time to start shilling this stuff to the dudes now. This country can make you sick-literally--there are commercials about FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, then fiber commercials (*to eliminate said food), diet pills (*again to elim said food), drugs (*because you ate too much and are now depressed b.c. your underwear won't fit).

It takes a toll on you. Women dancing and eating on t.v.--constantly associating happiness with food. Wonder why we have so many eating disorders in this country? "ooh, I can have (fake) key lime yogurt and it's only 5 calories?!?!?!?!?!?" Of course you can sweetie--Yoplait only spent 100th/cent to make it. It's all chemicals and zero nutrition.

Ok. Sorry for the long rant. Throwing t.v. out of the window.....

      Sarah, you're great :-)

    • The great thing about one of these commercials is when they say it's like "dating a masseuse good". Seeing as a masseuse is a female who gives massages, I can only assume this is a gathering of lesbians. Straight women would want to date a masseur. And Yoplait is a French company, for crying out loud!

THAT IS SUCH A GOOD POINT!!!!!!!! I JUST REALIZED THAT!!!!!!! HAHA THEY ARE LESBIANS!!! :) AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HETEROSEXUAL!!!! HAHA!!!! LESBIAN POWER? NO NOT REALLY AS A BISEXUAL I WOULD SAY THATS RIDICULOUS AND IT DOESN'T REPRESENT US GLBT PEOPLE WELL BUT YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT ERROR HAHA THE ADVERTISERS WERE STUPID

    • It’s about time. I HATE that lady at the dry cleaners so-o-o-o much. (no no no, you see now I’m IN, and now I’m going OUT....you see, I’m an important, yogurt-eating person with a snarky attitude and you’re just a dry-cleaning clerk...) I fear, on a very deep level, the people that commercial sells yogurt or anything else to.

    • Sarah i want to copy your perspectives and upload them into all the lost millions of women around this country. Seems like lately we have only seen the Ho, the bitch, the co dependent, the MA degree with sweatshirt and kids, and the lesbian. It's about time a woman has begun to challenge things like this. I feel like for so long women were just flattered that marketing gave them so much attention. Way to snap us all out of it.

My mother came to the family room, drawn by my noise, and after watching 3 seconds of the commercial decided that this definitely was something she needed.

It's still living in the fridge. Thanks yogurt campaigning!

    • I made a trip to LA from the UK 2 weeks ago and not only was I amazed by the amount of advert/commercial breaks, but by the amount of yoghurt adverts and adverts for his and her lube!

      America, a strange place

America is indeed a strange place and I frequently am angered by many aspects of it though it is my home. I hope the next generation changes things for the good and one thing they must do is stop the amount of advert, advertisements, commercials, the commercialization in all its excess and dangerousness- it is damaging lives. Hope you are doing well in the UK, all the best to you.

    • So true and so funny! My roommates have completely filled the fridge with those damn little yogurts. The only thing worse than their insipid, saccharine, food-engineering flavors is their tendency to come tumbling out of the fridge anytime you try to grab something other than yogurt. Sarah is great--let's see more from her.

    • I LOVE THIS! I've hated yogurt commercials since that chick with the boy hair cut first declared her yogurt was "weekend with no boys good"! And yes, who eats yogurt at a wedding? Based on these commercials you'd think that everyone in America was stopped up and bloated on a regular basis, and we're consuming yogurt full of "crappus regularis" on a daily basis. Ugh.

I was a little disappointed it didn't touch on the made up latin phrase of bifidus regularis. Who are they really trying to market this product toward, Wile E Coyote?

yes i wondered about that initially. then i saw that sarah touches on it in a different target: women, as well as other made-up words used to well target women and sell stuff. stupid horrible advertising industry. awesome target: women/sarah haskins.

    • Wow... that was brilliant! I can't wait to see what else Sarah creates. Also, it's a nice addition to hear from someone female - I was beginning to think that all of the infoMania boys just live alone in a big house and make funny videos all day (and night). Good to know that even if that is the case they'll at least have a woman around to feed them some (key lime pie or white chocolate strawberry) yogurt!

    • I've thrown away more yogurt than I've eaten. Probably a lot more. This has been irresponsible yogurting. Now I'm just going to say no. And the adjective those two Yoplait women keep scoping for (but never come up with) is "lesbian-orgy good!"
