Target Women is a recurring segment on Current TV's weekly television show, infoMania. In each episode of Target Women, Sarah Haskins takes a look at the often-ridiculous way the media reaches out to women.
infoMania is a half-hour satirical news show that airs on Current TV. The show puts a comedic spin on the 24-hour chaos and information overload brought about by the constant bombardment of the media. Hosted by Conor Knighton and co-starring Brett Erlich, Sarah Haskins, Ben Hoffman, and Sergio Cilli, the show airs on Thursdays at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific Times and can be found online at current.com/infomania. I think that, at least in the UK, manufacturers know that a large portion of the market is already made of women and so they try to focus on other demographics.
What I don't understand is american chocolate in general; I've tried it and it tastes like ear wax. Well, sweeter than ear wax but not nearly by enough.
I did notice one of the ads was for Lindor (considered a luxury chocolate, here, even though it's sold in most super markets) but I have enough experience to know that foods (particularly chocolate) from other countries have to have their recipes changed to be sold on foreign shores. They say this is for 'health standards' but it's usually to ensure that it can't out sell local brands. I can't expect an American to tell me how far from ear wax because they all deny this profusely. (I guess they're used to it).

My husband just said, "She's so funny," and I've NEVER heard him say that about a woman comedian! He usually dogs on them. Good job, girl! - 2 years ago

"Chocolate was given to women when God created us from Adam's rib. And then he thought, "That's kinda shitty. What if Adam leaves her for a secretary?" So he made us chocolate so we can feel good when we stick it in our mouths."
Hahahahahahhaaa.... I have such a girl crush on sarah!!

I watched this and just kept thinking about the episode of the Simpsons with the chocolate world where Homer eats the chocolate Scotty... much less appealing ad campaign, right?
Also I would LOVE to have see what Sarah would have done with AXE body spray's new add campaign. I LOVE eating chocolate men. For Serious.

Fantastic! You should do a segment on moisturizer commercials. They're almost as ridiculous as the chocolate ones.

Hah! Looks like the eating chocolate face is kinda like the jewelry face. (I have to agree with the above commenters, the harder an ad tries to convince me that I'll feel indulged by a chocolate, the less likely it is to happen.)

let's talk about chocolate letdown...when the bliss and ecstasy just aren't there. The Hershey's is waxen. The Dove's did not transport. Then maybe we'll have to resort to sex.

Chocolate does get "targeted" towards women a lot, though real, masculine chocolate does exist. Maybe I'll stock up on Yorkie bars to go with my flannel shirt collection.

The closest thing we have to that in America would be the Snickers bar, I think. Their commercials often feature growling men having a snickers to "kick hunger to the curb!" or something ridiculous like that.

/!\ ALSO, HEADS UP: /!\ 100 calorie pack oreos and those oreo candy ball things are NOT WORTH IT. They taste like cardboard. Just stick with two or three actual oreos, less often!

The opening slaaaaaayed me. "The Beatles? Obama? Careful, haha.. "
That legs-in-the-air shot is just shameless, holy cow.
Portraying chocolate as "molesty wind" (ahahaha) struck me as an... unusual cinematic choice, but I guess it's pretty run of the mill as far as WIZARD CHOCOLATE GOES! ...because that was clearly the Hogwarts Express.

Cadbury milk chocolate is probably my favorite chocolate, oh god it's so good. Also, two thumbs up to the company for going with inexplicable random content instead of the comparatively mundane "sexy chocolate" theme that so many others do.
