    • fuck mainstream, go indie people. many are doing it for the love, stop turning on those damn radios and giving these people the time of day, if radio dies, they die, turn off the tv and do not keep mtv on (it is a trap, they want you to sit on the couch and not flourish). boycott mainstream and it will have to change. however, this message is soooo impossible to get across to a nation of people because people are nieve.

the world is changing, inevitably, obama or not, mccain or not, change must come. if we contine down this path we are all doomed in our physical form.

stop competing with each other. it does nothing but create this gap between rich and poor, crime and crime punisher, cob and robber. if we all did it for one another i guarantee the world would be a much better place, however we all want to do it for ourselves and that is the problem. we are already not spending money, save it and show the government their way is full of flaws. do not feed in people, do not.

sergio - i have a minor studio, i am a music scholar, i study piano, theory, production/engineering, and music therapy. what do you have?

i do not mean to insult you my fair friend, i see your point of view, but you have to be more clear in your understanding of music (not all rap is garbage, most right now is). i hate mainstream music as many other real music heads do. i hate to see money hungry people destroy natural love by forcing artists to sell themselves out for some money in order to create biddy-bopper music that people who have no understand of music listen to and say its hot because "a majority" does. mainstream music is also aimed towards younger kids in highschools, as older people know the better things in life, it comes with age of course. imagine if we all boycotted the radios, mainstream music would have to change because ratings would drastically fall, yet people are too lazy to find good music and listen to a cd so we support it with laziness of pushing a radio tuner button and automatically nodding our head because the melodies within the music excite certain membranes which give us how else to put it "happy juice".

i only got upset over the TI claim. yes TI is hypocritical like the rest, but he is an image. dead and gone holds alot more value than most see. it simply ends TI's Paper Trail album stating that the old him will be dead and gone and a new him is coming due to his incarceration. its not so much about finding your home in the desert, the home in the desert scene is used because as we all know homes in the desert are rare so its asking the question "how do i find myself where i need to be". yes i understand your point of view is humor, you made me laugh may i add. music and I are so intouch i can almost say it is my purpose here on earth sent from God (yes a purpose can be very very real) so i was upset to see that you would hold some ignorance in your topic of discussion, you should know better!

aside all this, save music = go indie (many are unheard and do it for the love, those who are heard have money support and we all know money talks... well it did until the recession, things will change, oh yes they will, it's God's plan) believe it or not but if you dont then ask yourself "what is my purpose here on earth when i didnt ask to be born, what is the purpose of life and why is it here?" because what it is now, this state we are in, cannot be it.

    • i think sergio is an idiot on the note that "dead and gone" is portraying a message that you leave your old ways behind and enter a new. isnt that why we voted obama?

music is in a state of emergency. rap is bullshit, its a image of glamour now, anything america can do to make money. (altho there still are a few good artists). rock fell way off very very long ago, today rock is emo.. boohoo go cry because no one likes you and your antisocial. and pop is the combination of these two in mtv portrayal.

btw, fuck sergio. hes a nut. its all about the supply and demand, its really what americans want. if he thinks they are so horrible id like to see him come in a studio, sing, produce, and engineer a track that will out do TI.. until then, he needs to weld his mouth shut and understand what economy is doing to music.

why is this country full of retards with no education? no sense of direction? and no understanding to current events? it must be the higher devotion and owning a better myspace page or having more friends on facebook or better yet finding a cool wallpaper for your cellphone, i think they need a college for this, i bet the professors would make millions.

lol, only in america and look at what americans have done to the world... Thank You

I can agree with you on one thing MTV sucks. But the aren't stupid. They have test groups and contracts with hot stars to sell what new fads they want.

      P.S. lay off Sergio

    • Why did it have to be a picture of an ethnic woman listening to lame rap songs when statistics show the majority of people who buy this bloody music and make these guys rich are white people? Just curious.

    • No wonder those hip-hop tracks are lame, perhaps you might want to check this study that was released this week which reveals that people who like listening to Lil' Wayne performed worst in SATs.

never turn on top 40 stations for rap and hip hop in the city
there are better ones in HD that don't censor anything and put on unknown artists.

    • First, I find Sergio brilliant and spot on in his opinions, and humor. These songs prove that Hip Hop has hit an artistic impassee. I sort of hope for a Chuck D/Public Enemy force to hit the airwaves and just shake up hip hop. They need their Nirvana's Nevermind.

"I sort of hope for a Chuck D/Public Enemy force to hit the airwaves and just shake up hip hop. " I wish. When I saw Public Enemy @ Rock The Bells last year, Flava Flav spent half the time plugging is VH1 shit and talking bullshit. So disappointing.
