Um, the US prison system? Ms. magazine had an excellent article on this issue , with the cover completely filled with names of women who have gone to prison for killing/attacking an abusive partner. It was an amazing percentage. The police say when they respond to situations like this many times they already have taken five reports of abuse.

'Denica_Cassandra' - Thank you very much for the link. I found it very informal and it furthers my belief that violence towards women is a ever-present problem. But I'm unaware of the magazine cover you mentioned and although I found the article in the link enlightening I could not find any statistics that back your claim ("women who kill their husbands are almost always victims of domestic violence"). Is there another link, or did I possibly overlook the information?? I'm very curious to see your statistics on this issue. I'll await your reply, thank you.

i think her point is that this stupid show makes it seem every average girl in the world is going to kill her boyfriend or husband, and over no reason at that (or is at least very highly likely to) but um how many girls do you know who are murderers??? this show is ridiculous its like trying to scare guys or something my boyfriend even saw that and called bullshit on it when we happened to be channel surfing once and came across the show we couldn't believe it, it was absolutely ridiculous, a very sexist and stupid show...its like "o, she killed him ...because she liked music, to drive around in a car with friends when she was a teenager or in her early 20's, to shop, to read, to surf the internet, to eat yummy food, to dress up in different outfits/wear clothes and shoes, because she missed her old friends....and she liked all of that more than him, and randomly started to hate him for no reason so much she for no reason randomly killed him, one haircut or promiscuous internet name was the last blow, he had been so so so good to her and they were so in love until that one day when....SNAP! he does something random and she reacts with a promiscuous internet name or by screaming I HATE YOUR HAIR and then just kills him "...WHAT THE FUCK that doesn't make any sense its so bad because they really do make it sound like every girl is going to kill her boyfriend or husband eventually just randomly like for no reason. there is more to the story they are not telling. MURDER IS BAD AND THESE GIRLS SHOULD BE IN PRISON FOR LIFE. that is for sure. but it is true that in most cases they were badly badly abused by their boyfriends or husbands. and also...this is a tiny percentage of girls who kill their sexual/romantic partner/spouse....less than 1 percent in the U.S., even less than that in some other countries where there is well less violence and murder from both men and women overall. my boyfriend did a research project on this he got really into it because he was like WTF this is sexist and just wrong. guys...you are safe. unless she is obviously psychotic or you become like a crazy sadistic abuser to her. so just be nice and pick a nice girl. that show just tries to make people afraid. its definitely bullshit. wasn't sarah funny it it? i just watched it again for the first time in awhile (this hilarious parody sarah haskins does)...sarah haskins is so great. lol hilarious. have you seen her other stuff? its golden. peace brother take care

o yeah...the "almost always" part of her claim is a bit far-fetched, yeah there arent any super hard facts that my boyfriend who did a project on this stuff could find to back up that claim, although he did find that quite a few women who murder, almost all of them, had terrible lives and experienced just horrible things at some point in their lives (not that it is an excuse, but it is very sad and wrong too). in any case, we know a few things: 1. violence against women is wrong and sad 2. just because a woman is abused it is still not okay for her to murder her abuser of course and if she does murder him then of course she should be punished and rehabilitated if possible. 3. abusers of women should also of course always be punished and rehabilitated if possible.

That one husband deserved it, she killed him because he got a new haircut. I can't see how any woman wouldn't gut her husband for changing the style of his hair.
