Target Women is a recurring segment on Current TV's weekly television show, infoMania. In each episode of Target Women, Sarah Haskins takes a look at the often-ridiculous way the media reaches out to women.
infoMania is a half-hour satirical news show that airs on Current TV. The show puts a comedic spin on the 24-hour chaos and information overload brought about by the constant bombardment of the media. Hosted by Conor Knighton and co-starring Brett Erlich, Sarah Haskins, Ben Hoffman, and Sergio Cilli, the show airs on Thursdays at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific Times and can be found online at http://current.com/infomania/ or on Current TV. I'm watching old Target Women because I am bummed, and this one made me laugh so hard I had to pause it to laugh some more.

When Sarah mentioned "sarlacc the sand monster" from Star Wars, it was a bit much, but seeing the pic, it all made sense.

Years ago I heard some guy refer to his "lady's ferny place" and the gag reflex has never stopped. I vote for stranger, perhaps not even gentle nicknames. Oracle of Delphi? The jade temple is always a good standby. Thunder Valley? Bush, though - that word's been hijacked.

It's interesting Sarah thinks the British ad is JUST the result of English conservative culture; it's actually more of a comment on U.S. conservative culture. It was about the American 'Leave It To Beaver' culture that prides itself on double-speak they're convinced no one else can hear (they think it's the Holy Spirit using them, duh). So, HELLO American Conservatism, England sees you winking, and, HELLO Sarah, go to England and realise how the MODERN British culture views sexuality (as opposed to depending on Mary Poppins and the Queen).

Thanks Sarah! Just when a commercial gets on my nerves, you seem to have my back. Have you seen the spongebob/burger king/sir mixalot commericial? It is begging for your comments...

I saw this on the same site i first saw this schick ad at.My only disappointment was a hope that you would make fun of how women are asked to do endless things to "fix up" our bodies. Not that I have a problem with someone doing that, just a problem that this commercial makes it seem like u SHOULD be doing that. Granted, they are hawking razors, we should still as "consumers" (because thats all we are right?) let them know women don't need to be made to think they have yet another thing to do to fix whats wrong with them.
Why is it that as a Middle Eastern girl with extremely dark and curly hair and light skin I have to feel ashamed, like most other women with dark hair, to make sure we are "clean" of our disgusting hair? Sure most women feel this pressure but notice the very race specific references in the ad. Obviously women with dark course hair have a harder job ahead of them, isn't it funny how we are naturally not as pretty as a woman should be, you know, blonde?
Since schick is in the business of ridding the world of unwanted hair they should start targeting my hairy middle eastern brothers or my husband, they feel far too comfortable in their skin, lets make it hot for men to have shaved legs and another thing to do just to be acceptable to society!

That sandpit monster has teeth and its all dried up, let's not call lady parts that.
Someone is now going to write a literary thesis paper on how Luke represents defiant spematozoa refusing entry into the evil va-jay-jay, and thus Star Wars is male chauvinist.
Watch for it in The Utne Reader.
Thanks a lot, Sarah!
