    • ah fear mongering, good times. I'm just imagining if someone came and talked to me about that when I was in high school, we all would of laughed at them, except for a few kids who would be completely paranoid that someone would rape them if they said the wrong thing. Yeah it's dumb to send naked pictures of yourself to people, but mostly because someone you didn't intent to see it might. As for the texts themselves, my advice is: delete them immediately after sending or receiving them so your paranoid parents won't find them.

    • Sexting is crime?
      o_0 oh no!
      what is a face page?
      Attention to everyone over 27.
teenagers have sex and they have forever.
just because we are now adding cell phones into the mix doesn't make it new i am pretty sure pepople still shared nude pics before you could taker a pic on your cellphone.
but it is deadly so new rules
      Sexting is a crime.
sex is a crime unless it is for procreation within a marriage.
      no homosexuality allowed.
come on! today's teenagers are no worse than any other generation but no we are armed with dangerous tools called face pages and electronic mobile phones called gooseberries.
Sexting is not a crime and its not the government's job to punish your kids okay!

    • when I was in high school girls got raped for saying hi, so I don’t think some young slut sending nude pics is a good idea. she’s asking for any and everything she gets and putting herself out there for it. Kind of like a chick passing out drunk at a frat party and surprised when 5 guys are on top her. I don’t know why this is a big issue nothing new only new meda.

    • It is just a faze, and they will get over it later, maybe.??? When something bad happens then people will listen. We just need to wait, until then, then we will see what happens. New Sex Offenders is all that it will lead to.? Whoever wants to send nude pictures of themselves deserves what they get?The picture lasts forever and forever is a longtime to come. They will learn that the hard way. They should just post it on the Internet, because that will happen anyway??? Just watch and see!

    • Hey, as long as they're not getting preggo, they can talk about sex all the want. Would you rather teenage sluts whore it up or send some nasty message just fantasizing about it?

    • This is just nasty and sick. What about sex offenders, and Pediphiles, who knows where these pictures that these teen are sending out, won't get them stalked, or hurt, some how. I talked with my son's 2 adult, and 1 minor child, they said it's not big deal. Everyone's just over reacting. Yeah, until somebody get's hurt, sold, raped or attacked. It's just not a good thing, I am a mother of 4 son's and 1 daughter.

    • Dear Photosnob, a true patriot does criticize his country when his/her country does something wrong, stupid, or fearmongeringly foolish. 2nd, I am not from Germany, but lived there and the Germans are ashamed of WWII and Hitler. The WWII Germans who criticized their government were jailed. 3rd, since 2003 the US led Iraqi war has killed over 100,000 Iraqis (Amnesty, CBS, etc) in the name of a false war and occupation. I think we have more important things in the US government to do, than to worry about teens dirty messages.

As insignificant as you might find trying to protect our children to be it is important to me and the majority of Americans. Yes there are more important issues in the world and America to focus on but that doesn’t mean we turn our heads on "the unimportant things". Concerning Iraq what about the hardship and tribulation the Iraqi Kurds endured? Generations of brutality under Saddam Hussein and his genocidal campaigns that cost close to 200,000 lives. We all forget about that and focus on how terrible America is. The world loves to jump on the band wagon and point fingers at America. It's so easy to sit back and criticize but hard to take a stand and do something. Why don't you go and tell the Kurds how bad America is and what a terrible thing they did. Where were you and the rest of the world when Hussein was killing innocent people? Probably to busy criticizing America!

      photosnob... Ha!

"Generations of brutality under Saddam Hussein and his genocidal campaigns that cost close to 200,000 lives"

don't give me that crap where is the super hero "America" defending the live of all the chinnise living under such terrible less than human conditions, or where is the deeply live concern of the united states over the tens of thousands of innocent lives lost in Gaza at the hands of israel....

Interestingly enough, 2 of our biggest technology and financial allies...

      macgarys1,

I hope your not an American.

For whatever reason the United States is in Iraq it changed the Kurdish people lives. Check out this piece on media storm.

      http://mediastorm.org/0011.htm

Now for the other problems in the world I don't have an answer. We all know there are political reasons in every nations decisions. A simpler reason could be no matter what the United States does it will be critized by the media and people such as yourself.

Concerning Israel, if you beleive it is all one sided and they are to blame for everything then your miss informed and not even worth debating.

    • Well tomofnorthcal,

I was almost going to agree with you until you had to try and stick it to America. I am so tired of knuckle heads like yourself that look for anything and everything to take a shot at the greatest country in the world. Yes we might have our faults like everyone but like you said we are made up of people from all over the world. Now for you from Germany the same country Adolh Hitler is from, your country man. Umhhh that is something to be proud of, The Holocaust. What a great man an oh yea great leader of the Nazi Party and Germany who after being defeated committed suicide.

I know this has nothing to do sexting just like your comments against America, so stop!

Freedom of speech and expression is a big part of our way of life in America but we also have laws that try and protect our children and yes, teenagers are still children. The laws might not be perfect but there intent is well meant.

You said you grew up in Germany, I hope your are still there and not here in America because we don’t want you! America is the land of opportunity but it so frustrating when foreigners come to America and use our resources for a better way of life and then bash the very country that helped them. Go home or stay home!

photosnob you sound like your 8 years old in this post. the guy made a reasonable argument. he is not bashing america just pointing out a TRUE fact no matter how usless it is to the argument. btw the reason america is so religious is because if people dont like their current religion they have 5000 other religions to choose from. where as in a palce like germany there are only about 500.

      vnprado,

If I am eight then so are you. nah nah nah nah nah! Stick and stones may hurt my bones but names will never hurt me.

Seriously the world’s problems aren't always the United States fault but everyone needs an excuse so people and countries who never take a stand always criticize the ones that do.

If you read tomofnorthcal post he wasn't just making a reasonable argument and was bashing America. Quotes by tomofnorthcal were "self-righteous Americans", “America was founded by thousands of religious rejects", and "religious government nuts".

My grandfather, father, and uncle served our country and risked there lives so you and tomofnorthcal if you are in America have the right to free speech. Please speak your mind but please don't bash the very same country that gives you that privilege. (If you are in America)

I'm with ya on this, photosnob. I'm another one who's sick to death of folks bashing my country. While we're not perfect, we're a hell of a lot more "user friendly" than most places. If you don't believe me just ask the thousands of people who try to come here each year.

I'm just going to have to go ahead and call Godwin's Law on you Photosnob. Sorry, but you asked for it. tomofnorthcal did bash USA a bit but there is really no reason to bring Hitler into any argument.

    • I grew up as a teen in Germany which shows nudity, sex, and sexual language on free TV. Sexting should not be a crime. That old lady should be a crime. Sex talk by teens has been around for centuries. Why are self-righteous Americans so afraid of normal human sexual curiosity and discovery? Oh I forgot, America was founded by thousands of religious rejects from Europe. These same religious government nuts should read their Old Testament Bible (Song of Solomon), which contains graphic sexual language. And if you follow their own logic, then church Bible studies for kids would become sex-offenders because they simply talked about sex.
