Uhh. I think the photo is hilarious. If anything (like she's said), she's making fun of Hitler.
If anybody makes any anti-Semitic remarks, I'm sure they'll get paddled -- which is what they'd deserve anyway.

lol, a Really Old family friend we used to take care of before he passed shocked me one day by refusing the bagels my mom brought him as "jew bread." : -0
lol apparently he didn't know (or maybe didn't care:) that my step-dad is Jewish!! Some people just don't know to be sensitive but Barr was just being a freak. ;) - 2 years ago

I went on a date with the editor-in-cheif of Heeb once - we were pretty bored with each other so it didn't go anywhere, but I got the sense that their organization really REALLY tries hard to make that magazine as subversive as possible, because it's the hip, cool, lower-east-side-jewish-hipster thing to do. So it doesn't surprise me to see something like this.
Nevertheless, as a Jew, I'm not too amused by the ideas conjured upon hearing the words "Burnt Jew Cookies" on Current or anywhere else. It's a nauseating phrase, not to mention the fact that there are plenty of very proud anti-semites on Current who will click this post with glee, only to be disappointed when they get here and don't see some real anti-jewish content. Connor, please consider changing the title of this pod. I'm sure you guys don't want it to get tons of views for THAT reason.

its like the any of the jews in oven jokes thier is a humorous aspect to it but the lack of respect for tragedy takes the funny away and pains the hearts of those who care

I dunno. I'm beginning to find it funny the more I look at it. Given the context, that this is a Jewish woman posing in a satirical Jewish magazine, and that surely when they came up with this concept much of the humor was probably found in its sheer level of inappropriateness, amusement is setting in.
Somehow when I first saw this segment, I somehow missed that it was for Heeb magazine.

Perhaps I am deluding myself, but I like to think that I have a fairly good sense of humor and can appreciate the full spectrum from "broad" comedy to the more "subtle" varieties.
I am not Jewish. But I can't see how the fact that Roseanne IS Jewish makes this perversity any less lame. The Nazis put live human beings -- imagine your own mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings...CHILDREN being forced into them, screaming and weeping, begging for their lives while losing the contents of their bowels and stomachs in the most horriffic and mind-wrenching fear and panic that you can imagine (probably CAN'T truly imagine).
Burnt Jew Cookies. Yeah, you're a real stitch, Rosie...

There's no way Jennifer Senior couldn't hear the anchors. She just got caught wanting free publicity without having to summarize her article.

It's definitely in poor taste, but it should be kept in mind that Roseanne is a Jew. A Jew for Jesus, but a Jew.

Changed it happy now, Found Avenue? I wasn't trying to be offensive, that it never the intention of my posts! But you're offended my me, not the comedy bit?
I was told growing up Jew is offensive, it's Jewish. It is hard to be politically correct because what is proper changes. I wrote j** to not perpetuate the racism.

bubl_415:
Whoa! Calm down... please don't get so defensive! I wasn't being hypercritical of you, and I wasn't offended by your mistake. I grew up in NYC, where the students in our classes in public school were always approx. 50 % Jewish, 50% Gentile, but I totally understand that there are many people in this country who don't know any Jews, and have barely been exposed to people of the Jewish faith at all. When I saw that you had written the word as "J**" instead of "Jew," I simply assumed (correctly) you had been told at some point in your life that "Jew" is a derogatory term for someone of the Jewish faith, which is why I made those innocent comments to you - to let you know you had been misinformed. The fact of the matter is that "Jew" is a beautiful word - it is the best term for anyone who practices the Jewish faith, just as Christian is the perfect term for someone who practices the Christian faith, and Muslim is the perfect word for someone who practices the Islamic faith. I was simply trying to let you know your error, so you could correct it. Thanks for doing so, by the way. I'm sure many Jews on this site will appreciate it, and no one will blame you for an honest mistake. We all live and learn, right?

I don't think Barr should get all the credit or blame (whichever side of the fence you fall on). This was in a magazine which means the editors knew about it or even asked her to do it.
