    • Sarah, wow that is an "I'm pregnant or getting fat" shirt. Fire whoever does your wardrobe, NOW! They are terrorists of the worst kind. I mean bad bad people.

    • Tayllerand:

The only problem with that is that pit bulls are usually far more expensive in the long run than the security system. Food, vet bills, training and potential destruction are costly. I love dogs, but I am realistic. I like the gun idea better. ;)

    • All abiding citizens should carry guns, specially women . I believe all good women should carry a 32 caliber revolver with hollow point bullets just to get off those crazy dudes out there. An armed society its a civilized society.

    • Painfully inept burglars and rapists, aren't they? They're always waiting patiently for the commercial's exposition -- "He was just an acquaintance" -- until the woman's locked her door behind her.

Every home security system deals with innumerable false alarms for every actual emergency, of course. People are forever accidentally setting the thing off by coming in through the screen door when it's on or whatever. They hardly react within five seconds of an alarm; they wait a bit to see if the owner shut the dang thing off again.

    • So. You're playing in your backyard in the daytime, totally vulnerable. But when you go into the house and set your alarm, THAT'S when Rapey McGee busts in? Burgle FAIL.

    • this made my day.
I would like to see a target women about the ads for tampons/pads - sometimes referred to as "feminine protection", and ALWAYS illustrated with blue fluid. They're the least informative kind of commercials I can think of.

    • Not only is it only men who work here, as Lydster pointed out, but it's only WHITE men. And only WHITE women being attacked in their nice, safe-looking neighborhoods.

These commercials are appalling on so many levels.

    • I am so glad Sarah said what we've all been thinking about these commercials. I haven't seen a single one that depicts a male in danger. It's been really ticking me off lately.

Of course, these commercials are so easy to mock anyway. And as to the product as much as the commercial: who would immediately answer the phone moments after someone breaks down their door?

    • ...and the chances that EVERYTIME a rapist will spend all that time to plan this only to bust in and run back out... must be the weak point at Look Like a Caucasian Burglar University

    • A baseball bat by the front door and a taser by my bed have served me well and are a bargain. I may not get calls from hunks but I don't have any monthly fees either. :)

    • 'Rape fables,' or, as I like to call them, 'rapebles.'

And I'm sure at least some of those guys breaking and entering only wanted to rob the place.

    • did anyone notice the guy in the broadview commercial about the boyfriend looked exactly like Brett Erlich? And by "exactly" I mean vaguely...in a passing glance...really go back and watch it

    • Yay, more Target Women!

Those commercials are pretty terrible. I love how every break-in involves someone violently smashing a door in. They all must have learned that technique at Look Like A Caucasian Burglar University!

    • Exposing despicable media tactics and making it fun to watch at the same time; I love this! I am already a fan of Sarah Haskins, and will be following Target Women from now on.

    • @Lydster: Oh, no, there were also some handsome women talking on call center headsets in the background as well. Clearly they weren't going to forget the home alone Lesbian demographic.

But what about women who don't live in single-family housing subdivisions? What of them? And don't any women over 40 want to safeguard their chastity these days? Has that become the cutoff for Life Alert's market? Does maturity bring the wisdom that home invaders merely target younger women with masters degrees in order to abscond with their regularity-promoting yogurts and half-eaten rotisserie chickens?

Noticed some sneaky-looking asterisks loitering around the "$99" and "free second keypad." Now what's truly shocking is how many Americans are violated by asterisks each year.

    • Have you noticed there are apparently only MEN working at that security company?

I can't help thinking these commercials mostly satisfy some guys' crazy ideas that women constantly need to be protected by a person with a significant lack of X chromosomes. Pah.

Oh hey Sarah, are these the same flip flops we saw in the Disney Princesses video?

    • "Rape fables". -heh- I guess Brink...s was a name that just really didn't offer that "security connotation", and they pulled back from it. "Broad View"; now THAT has an alert and hyper aware vigilance to it! ( still has problems though,....that "broad" viewing thing works two ways,.....you got your "peeps",.....AND your "peepers". ) Unfortunately, they seem to have reinforced the imagery associated with BOTH. Just sayin.

    • What? Given the context of this segment, there's no comment on the name of the company? Broadview. Broad. View. Broad... view.
