    • The Who is alright. They're not awful or anything but they are easily even more over rated than Led Zep. They're just populist rock. Nothing much to see here, move along.

    • Daughtry sounds like Nickelback before Nickelback started to suck, so what's the problem? Not to mention nothing by a real alternative bad could ever really be worse then the "New Alternative" shit that started coming out of people's asses a few years ago, unless said band decided to purposely imitate it as a few (NOT including Nickelback or Daughtry) have done. Yes, that particular song wasn't too great, because it was more a mix of country and LiteFM rather then it was of anything alternative. However, you mention Daughtry's name in the tags as though that automatically makes it the result of a laxative. It doesn't; everyone loves Staind and yet OH GEE THEY SOUND JUST LIKE DAUGHTRY to some degree... except this particular song apparently but you aren't only talking about this song. There could DEFINITELY be something worse up there... like The White Stripes, Gorillaz, or any of the aforementioned "New Alternative" bands that don't at least attempt to sound like they could have been on the radio in 1999.

      But again just remember... the people using iTunes are the same ones who downloaded those pop songs you mentioned earlier. So they aren't going to have any sense and listen to Disturbed.

      #1: Rock still makes good music. It's all that's left. It's mix with SHIT, but yeah it makes good music. There's also dance, but that's not really considered a genre as far as popularity and radio goes.

    • i admit, i cannot stand daughtry, but stay the heck away from dave matthews and the who. it's definitely not the fault of either artist if they've been mis-classified by something as inane as itunes. the other artists, meh, dont listen to them so i really could care less.

      The Who is rock, that particular song is just absolutely horrible (you notice they can't sing with a shit, in that song??). Dave Matthews Band could technically be considered alternative, because the other other genre that works for it is "Adult Contemporary", and nobody is actually going to write that in the genre box unless you're on Comcast's "Adult Contemporary" music channel. I don't think it qualifies for "soft rock," and it definitely isn't pop since "pop" is the Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson, even though it falls into the wider WIDE genre of "pop", so does "I love Rock & Roll" fall into the WIDE category of "rock", but you know that many people would punch anyone who said it is rock (actually it's pop, because music "official" classifiers are pretty damn dumb).
