Apple TV: Steve Jobs Successfully Bribes Ben Hoffman

Ben_Hoffman
InfoMania's webby nominated Tech Reporter, Ben Hoffman, received a free Apple TV in the mail. Will that influence his review of the product? Absolutely.

The infoMania Tech Report is a weekly segment where technology guru Ben Hoffman takes a look at the newest tech products, gadgets and video games. It has been called "the funniest tech show on the web." (No source for that quote is available at this time. In fact, there's a good chance it was made up.) For more Ben visit http://current.com/techreport/ and Current TV.

infoMania is a half-hour satirical news show that airs on Current TV. The show puts a comedic spin on the 24-hour chaos and information overload brought about by the constant bombardment of the media. Hosted by Conor Knighton and co-starring Brett Erlich, Erin Gibson, Ben Hoffman, Bryan Safi and Sergio Cilli, the show airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV.

    • It's a satire!!!

What I perceive what Ben is trying to say is how so many people in the Tech Review Industry are just puppets. If they receive something free from a major company, they then become faltered and gain a ego. All because someone big in the industry noticed them, and sent their product(s) for free.

Then most of them lose their ba... I mean professionalism on reviewing the product objectively. They'll stand by the product, praising its features, and talk little or none about the its issues and flaws. Doing this because they don't want to lose their new friend.

    • My only complaint about the apple tv is that it doesn't support much internet content. It is unfortunately currently limited to Youtube, Flickr, Pandora, and Mobile Me. Hopefully it will have full internet access in the future.
