Find the Perfect Sexy Costume: Modern Lady

- added this
For good reason, no woman has ever had the balls, moxie or delusion to claim the title of "the world's premiere basic cable expert on lady stuff."
Until now.
Meet Erin Gibson. She's freakishly tall, sort of smart, and willing to do just about anything to get a bemused chuckle.
Her segment, Modern Lady, on infoMania, is dedicated to reporting and commenting on what's happening on Planet Lady.*
*The asterisk next to "Planet Lady" is actually a typo.
infoMania is a half-hour satirical news show that airs on Current TV. The show puts a comedic spin on the 24-hour chaos and information overload brought about by the constant bombardment of the media. Hosted by Conor Knighton and co-starring Brett Erlich, Erin Gibson, Ben Hoffman, Bryan Safi and Sergio Cilli, the show airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV.

It was funny. Bryan is very funny too. Bold choice of costume Erin! the european man segment wasn't your best, but you did a good job this week. Also everyone, it mentions it was in front of an audience so thats why there is laughing. (stop being so critical) and I don't know what you all said but most of your comments got removed. Way to keep it appropriate, good work.

it was filmed in front of a studio audience, probably people who work for current; it says so in the description.

Hey guys, let's raise ratings by subjecting Erin to dressing like a whore! Won't that just be so thought-provoking and totally not trashy?

With all due respect they were making fun of how women are expected to dress for halloween which is an idiotic "tradition", it was a respectable effort, until the end at least

Wow. Current.com started out as a great thing. It was like cable access news, but on a national level.
It was a bootcamp for citizen journalism.
Anybody could submit news stories and, if they were good, get them played on international TV.
Discourse on the site and on the shows were all intelligent, progressive, passionate, and rational.
Now, it's the same MTV bullshit you see on every other fucking channel, playing to the lowest common denominator. I understand now why Sarah Haskins left when she did.
Current is dead.

Are you KIDDING? I get that if the show is at risk of being cancelled (which is obviously the case on the heels of Rotten Tomatoes getting canned) that you have to make some changes. Perhaps you should reflect on how well alienating the existing audience worked for Rotten Tomatoes. Tarting up the show VH1-style is NOT going to increase the audience - the few extra viewers you attract will be more than made up for by all the intelligent viewers you lose. If I ever see another segment with a tacky laugh track I will give up on this site.
I feel bad for the actors, because I know you're great and that this isn't your fault, but I enjoy this entire website less and less every week.

I forgot, is "slutty" a sexist word in English? As Spanish I do not know. And the "hide the kids" part is very "puritan". I don't like the description of the video and her in general. Especially when they say "freakishly tall". First of all, models are very tall, and no one calls them "freakish". And I only see a conventionally attractive woman. I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with them trying to make her seem "freakish" as if that would instantly make her funnier, smarter or wittier.

On the first place, don't you dare talk to me that way.
On the second place, I think I made everything perfectly clear. I was wondering about things and taking into account that, since I'm Spanish, maybe there was a possibility that I didn't understand them.
On the third place, I said I wasn't going to read any replies. Which I use to do. But since my mailbox collapsed with hundreds of replies, I was curious. But I've just seen two. Maybe the other ninety-eight replies were deleted. Best for me. They were probably the kind of replies I don't even bother to read and therefore I delete. And I'll keep on doing it so that's all.

-Corrected version.-
(I'm from Spain. I say this in case I make any mistakes when writing.) I can't help but thinking that the segment is losing its original sharpness, wit and fun. And that it is becoming too mainstream, too light, too "decaf".
By the way, I didn't notice the laugh track until some people pointed it out. Anyway I haven't laughed. I'm really really sorry for Erin, but I don't find her funny. Believe me, Erin, it breaks my heart to say it. But, after all, you're a public person and you're exposed to people not finding you funny. And it's very hard but I do not. Well, maybe a little. But not enough to host a segment like this or to be the Sarah Haskins' "successor". For more than three times, I think, I've seen her eating in her segments as a way to show how carefree she is.
I still don't know why Sarah Haskins left the segment and what she is doing now. I'll have to find out through her "Twitter", I suppose. Sarah Haskins used to make me burst out laughing and so does Bryan Safi. Is that the reason why Bryan Safi has appeared in "Modern Lady" twice?
And what's with "[...] no woman has ever had the balls [...]"? So now we have to put up with sexism in a feminist segment, too? Are the rest of the segments (except "That's Gay", of course) that sexist? I hope not. I don't know, since I don't watch them. I just discovered "Current" through a link to a "Target Women" video on a website long time ago. But it's not the first time that I see something like that.
