Bryan Safi Learns How Reichen Lehmkuhl Stays 'A-List': That's Gay Web Exclusive

bryan_safi
Bryan Safi gets some face time with the most easily identifiable name on Logo's "The A-List: New York" -- Reichen Lehmkuhl. He's won CBS's "The Amazing Race," and he's dated Lance Bass, and now his book about serving in the military as a gay man, "Here's What We'll Say," is getting adapted for film. But can this A-Lister help Bryan upgrade his own name from the carpool list to VIP? It turns out that they're already more similar than you might think!

That's Gay is a recurring segment on the weekly television show infoMania. In each episode of That's Gay, Bryan Safi explores gay issues and stereotypes as they are portrayed by the clueless media. For more Bryan visit http://current.com/groups/thats-gay/ and Current TV.

I'm unsure why I am bothering to reply to this, perhaps because I am curious. I want to understand your position. My main question is about your purpose in posting so many comments on these threads, all of which posit that same-sex attraction is a psychological symptom, and that it can be alleviated if unwanted. As far as I know there is no empirical evidence for this claim. While the professionals at the Center for Gender Wholeness appear to be licensed, they provide no scientific literature (not simply the musings of a single psychiatrist) that backs up the validity of their practice. While I am sometimes the first to say just because something isn't proven doesn't mean it doesn't work, I can't take something as potentially dangerous as messing with the human psyche on good-faith. Patrickedgar, as a rational and scientifically minded individual, I find what you say about nature, evolution, sex, gender and the "human soul" to be presumptuous and uneducated at best, rooted more in religious/spiritual jargon and your own idealized vision of society than in any scientific knowledge. And if you can acknowledge you are approaching this argument from your own personal ideological viewpoint, also realize proselytizing rants are not going to further your position among the rational and level headed.

    • Excuse me mister id appreciate it if you kept your gay bashing antics to yourself. No one chooses to be gay just as no one chooses to be white or black or hispanic. I think complete acception for glbt is a long ways away. But that is still just the same for people who are any color but white. And this whole anal sex thing I mean really? How many times have you fucked a girl like that? Oh but that's different right! Listen anyone should be able to be proud of who they are and its people like you who are so insecure with yourself that if anyone is even the slightest bit different you freak. The segment That's Gay is actually making fun of people like you. Who assume that if there's a gay guy around he obviously wants to stick it in your butt. You know what? Get off you high horse the world is not about you.

    • Haha ! I just love the way you put all those awkward moments in every of your interviews XD I'm glad about this DADT thing being repealed. Here in Québec, homosexuals have the same rights than any heterosexual couple: they can marry and adopt children. It's about time for USA to do the same thing !
Keep on using irony and humor to make this world a better place to be ! It's refreshing !

I don't think religion is having much to do with it. Check his posting history.... I only got to page 7 and EVERY SINGLE POST is in a thread of gay subject matter. That speaks volumes about his agenda and/or closeted, self-loathing. Some of he diatribes are just copied and pasted. Please.

On topic: one hot soldier! And "Biryan" just keeps getting funnier!

Asking me if I would take a pill to make me straight is like asking me if I would take a pill to make me white. My answer to both is no because I would be sacrificing the broadness of my current world view that allows me to be more thoughtful and critical about society and myself. And even if I could somehow be made straight, in that I would strictly be sexually and romantically attracted to women, I don't think the other facets of my personality and identity would fit your narrow view of "manhood" regardless.

You talk of open communication and understanding, but all I see is the promotion of self hatred, not only of our sexuality, but of our bodies and our economic backgrounds. I can't tell if this comes from a place of self loathing or unchecked privilege, but either way you have some serious self study to do.
