    • It's called business ethics, you vote with your dollar therefore consumer choices have weight on corporate behavior. If you boycott on the perception of that business being anti-gay whether that boycott affects their business or not, it sets a precedent for other establishments to follow.

So, offering free food in exchange for advertisement should have been turned down because of the believes and social standing of the organization? Isn't that a form of discrimination? What if Chick-Fil-A had been made the same offer by LGF, but then said 'No' to them. That would have been discrimination also, would it not?

I would agree with you if thats all they did. The company has given money to groups that would deny rights to gays. The employees are encouraged to attend retreats that are sponsored and conducted by groups that fight to deny marriage equality.

    • Yo Bryan, I'm sure you will be able to find a replacement for that briny chicken fillet-ette and its very ordinary pickle-chip with something you can buy on a Sunday.

    • No Chick-fil-A in San Francisco? Seems like somewhere in the gay area, oops... I mean Bay area the franchise should have a presence.

If not, gays can exploit the opportunity. Maybe "Cock-fil-A" or "Cock-a-dude'll-do!"

      Boo! I know, I know.

    • This is a family owned business that happens to be Christians and therefore are closed on Sunday's. I really wouldn't take it so personally. So if I buy my friend a sandwich and then she has an abortion does that mean I support abortion? I say a boycott is your right but I'll make up my own mind thanks!

Good point, but what if with every purchase of a sandwich a percentage of that sale went to abortion clinics. and it was public knowledge that they contributed to abortion clinics then you are consciously supporting the company s stand on abortion.

    • Of course the only good fast food chain is a front for christian fundamentalism. We live in too much of a crapsack world for something like this to not happen.

    • It's not "lately".

      Chick-fil-A has always been anti-gay.

They have a long history of firing employees when they find out they are gay.

Heck, it's a fundamentalist Christian restaurant that's closed on Sundays.

      It's not a restaurant- it's the front-end of a hate group.

I have not eaten there in decades.

    • Safi is funny but the boycott is dumb. What's next? Boycott the hotel chain where the anti-gay group had its meeting (I hear they got a 10% discount)? Also, Chick-fil-A does make some seriously good chicken sandwiches. Why not boycott McNuggets instead? They're not just anti-gay, they're anti-life in general.

Except, as I said in my comment, this is not just one occurrence of one anti-gay thing in an otherwise nice or neutral company, like the incident with Target.

Chick-fil-A is a right-wing fundamentalist Christian organization with a strong agenda, reflected in their hiring practices as well as who they support.

No gay person, gay friendly person, or friend of Human Rights or equality should ever eat there.

It is a restaurant for people who want a Christian Theocracy.
