If yesterday was Thursday, tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes
afterwards, then what day is it? If you answered "Friday," you either a) can
read a calendar or b) have seen the music video from 13-year-old Rebecca
Black that's sweeping the Web. Or both. infoMania's resident musicologist,
Sergio Cilli, drops by to deconstruct the song's peculiar popularity.
It takes a real friend to call an intervention to help you realize you might have a problem. This also applies to music. Except Sergio is not your friend but he still wants you to stop. Here's Sergio's Music Intervention.

I appreciate your sentiment, Sergio, I really do. I too find it extremely distasteful when a bunch of smug adults (e.g. Chelsea Lately) rip apart the latest effort/celebrity goss from some bright-eyed kid / glassy-eyed young adult. But I quibble with one point, you and I both know that Rebecca Black has somehow managed the seemingly impossible & lowered the bar even further. Best her pop career end now while she is still young enough to recover & avoid the cliched tailspin of rehab and multiple criminal charges.
