Finding the next Oprah

Erin_Gibson
Even though Oprah Winfrey gave 18 months notice before ending her legendary talk show this week, the TV world doesn't seem any closer to finding her replacement. Erin Gibson decided to do her part by hitting the streets of Hollywood to discover the next Oprah. If you see only one video this year that puts Julia Roberts' face on a stick, make it this one.

For good reason, no woman has ever had the balls, moxie or delusion to claim the title of "the world's premiere basic cable expert on lady stuff."

Until now.

Meet Erin Gibson. She's freakishly tall, sort of smart, and willing to do just about anything to get a bemused chuckle.

Her segment, Modern Lady, on infoMania, is dedicated to reporting and commenting on what's happening on Planet Lady.*

*The asterisk next to "Planet Lady" is actually a typo.

    • Are you kidding me? She gave away a whole street of houses! That school ! Oh and let's not forget when she stood up on stage that one day and belted out that each and everyone in the audience is getting a brand new car! I mean, really, who needs food and water and a good education when you've got houses and cars? Oprah gave us all the American dream!

No, I'm joking. I agree, I believe Oprah could have done a lot more. Although, I've never researched her "philanthropist" side, so whether she has given or not, I'm not too sure of. Even though I've never heard of her giving to charities too much.

    • I'm happy she's gone... she was a hypocrite! The lady lived in a $50 million dollar home 30+ bedrooms, 20+ bathrooms, was worth over a Billion dollars, while telling everyone else to give and help. LOL...

How about her giving her home up and using it as a rescued place for the people that just lost their homes in Alabama? How much did she donate to that cause? Better yet, did she give them homes? did he she set up a relief drive? when have you heard of anyone saying, "she's helped me, from her own wallet?" NOT ONE PERSON.

The money Oprah gives out is from the people that donate to her charity... no one could amass so much and still give like she talks about or people dream about. She's a fucking hypocrite and i can't believe people still follow her like sheep....

For that reason alone, this post gets voted down.

ah yes... the one good deed... and how do you know she used her own money? How do we know she didn't use the money from other folks like she always does? I know i don't and i'm not going to sit here and make up some BS on how i do. All i know is that she's worth billions and still has a $50m dollar home. Unlike Michael Jackson, who died with a few millions and was known, not by the media, but by the world record group... to have given to more charities than any single person, company or government.

Now David, thank you for the comment and response.. but until she starts contributing and starts to go down on the TOP Billionaires list, I won't believe her.

Thank you David and it was great seeing you too. You said it best in this comment and you're right, why hasn't she done more is my whole point. She continues to amass more wealth and act like everything around her is just peachy... that's why i'm upset that people still donate to her and think she's doing something...

Thanks again for your comments and hope you have a great weekend bud!
