As left leaning poor white trash living in rural america (a liberal redneck), I find this offensive:
"The channel's audience is comprised of affluent, curious, social and connected adults who crave the kind of entertaining, enlightening, witty and informative programming found on Current's TV and online properties."
Oh. Right. You mean Hipsters. Fuck y'all.
Also, infomania has been total shit since Sarah Haskins left, and you deserve to get canned.
SuperNews kicked ass as well. The new management has been killing everything good about this channel.
I can only assume that Vanguard is next on the chopping block.

Oh snap!!! Called those boys out! I have the perfect boyfriend. He's nothin like those chumps just interviewed. He isn't restricted by gender roles. When shit needs to get done around the house, whether it's cooking or cleaning, whichever one of us has the time does the work.
Take a lesson, boys.

That was pretty funny.
But in all seriousness, I've never been married.
For many reasons.
1. Attraction is the first thing that brings you to a potential mate. Mating is the main reason for settling down/getting married.
I live in the south. There's a lot of obese women. A lot. I'm not talking a little chubby, I'm talking about women who are over 180lbs, and under 5ft 6. tall.2. Women want to be independent and have careers, which means making their own money, and competing in the job market. They continue to be more dominant in their relationship roles, yet seek men who are dominant.
You can't have 2 dominant roles.3. It's expected of men to buy dinner, even if women earn more money.
However, if a man get's paid more, that's "SEXISM", yet we are still expected to pay for dinner, the house, the ring, be more successful, etc.4. Women who do well for themselves don't really need a man. Which makes them more picky. They are starting to go more for the hollywood model types more and less for the guy who might be well-rounded, educated, moderately successful, etc.
5. In my experiences with dating, it is extremely RARE to find a woman WITHOUT some sort of mental condition remedied by a prescription. i.e. Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Dissociative Identity Disorder (multiple personalities). Since highschool, I can count the number of women I've dated without any of these conditions on ONE HAND! (I feel like I should be making graphs and charts for this.)
Bottom line.
-Women want a man who is "successful" (alpha male), but they also want success (tossing aside traditional female household roles). In today's world they still hold on to high standards of what a "successful man" should be, but these days, having a steady paying decent job SHOULD be the view that's held.
-They want their man to be attractive and in peak physical condition, while they themselves are not. Romantic gestures are now viewed as "buying" their affection.
-Chivalry is dead, and feminism pulled the trigger.
-Women want to be modern, but still look for traditional marriage roles (which is conflicting).
-Women are spending more time in school, and on their careers, as their former roles as wives and home makers are coming to an end, while MEN are still expected to be the Bread Winners. Current wants and views are in conflict with their wants and expectations.Me, as a man, what I want is this: A woman who's attractive enough so as to make it easier to want to reproduce. Someone who has similar or shared interests. Someone who is loyal, faithful, supportive, happy, loving, and educated.
-That's it. *My only stipulation is that I refuse to settle-down with a woman who has real mental disorders. After having my fill of past relationship experiences with that, I fill it's not much to ask for.
To this day, I'm happy to say that I'm single and happy.
I'm going on less dates, but it's because of this question: "Do you currently see a Psychiatrist/Therapist/Psychologist, and are you on any medications from said doctor?" - 11 months ago

If you only want a woman to cook and clean hire a cleaning service. A wife should be someone who shares your dreams as you share hers. And I notice there was only talk about having sex, not making love or having a companion to love for all time. I think that's kind of a sad statement.

Dear littlelumpo,
I speak for the people of the upper white middle class, and would like to extend an invitation to you. I cordially invite you to be upper white middle class. There problem solved. And I'm pretty sure there is a sign on the home page that says no poor kids. So its not "apparently", its factual. More important then your observation however, is the way in which you handle the situation. When we make it clear that we obviously hate poor people, your way to strike back is to say.... "apparently", like its some sort of revelation that was only bestowed upon you. However, when the upper white middle class were told that we can't be black, we simply took over the entire rap industry and made it our own. And because of our brave white brothers and sisters, I now can confidently walk into any mall in america and purchase all the FUBU I want. And we never had to say apparently. We just fixed the problem. - 11 months ago

Dear Mr. Pen Rod XIII,
Thank you for the invitation to become "Upper White Middle Class." I am sorry to say that I found myself confused by your post. I reread my response a few times and could not find the word apparently in it. Perhaps the word apparently is just one of those things you become privy to once you are "Upper White Middle Class." I guess I will know now, since I have been accepted into the club. Goodie.
Cheers,
The Littlelumpo Formerly Known As Not Upper White Middle ClassActually, sorry, I'm not really that into FUBU so I am going to have to decline, thanks anyway. Besides, it was never a problem that Current doesn't include people like me in its audience, are you kidding me? HAHAHA!! Problem for whom? AMIRITE?!?!?
And, so, because it's not a problem, it doesn't need solving. And no one ever had to feel offended by someone else *noting* (...you follow me?) that Current called them upper middle class (which, of course, everyone knows to mean White, as well).
Thank you, Current, and your affluent, curious, social and connected audience, for making Current entertaining, enlightening, witty and informative programming. For people like me to crash the party.
Love,
Me. - 11 months ago

voted up. The key to my excellent writing and upper white middle classness lies in the fact that of course I don't read the comments. I just make shit up as I go. Thats what being UWMC is all about. :) Now are we on the same page.

I would like to say however, my idea of a perfect wife would be a fictional one. My idea of the perfect woman would be the one who knows that marriage is just another dogmatic tradition that makes no sense. And while I'm at it, after seeing the caliber of the interviewees, I also think that most people should stop breeding. At the very least have something similar to getting a gun licence before reproducing. I don't like the fact that I have to wait three days before I can kill someone with a shiny new gun, but I can at any given time reproduce children that I may or may not take care of and not to mention continue with whatever communicable disease I may or may not of picked up in Thailand. I am kidding, but my point remains.

Sorry I guess this has nothing to do with the Modern Lady segment, but I never noticed this before:
"The channel's audience is comprised of affluent, curious, social and connected adults who crave the kind of entertaining, enlightening, witty and informative programming found on Current's TV and online properties."
Affluent adults?
No poor kids? Oh ok.
I suppose I always knew deep down that Current was made for upper-middle-class white people, but still. Who would brag about that?

We have a winner and the new champeeen ! Erin you're too comical.
Niagra falls indeed. HaHaHaHaHaHa. What a trip. Before too long you
might elicit such a rep as a comedian, they'll be laughing before you
say something comical. Oh well as Mel Brooks once said. Noone can
ever be the unedited version of themselves. And still laughing my 6 off.
Marriage is overrated anyway. Doesn't suit the animal instincts of humans,
imho. If it did it wouldn't test the virtues of so many people, again, imho.
If someone is lucky enough to make contact with the other half of their
soul deposited in another person, trust me, we wouldn't need marriage
by any civil or religious ceremonial trappings to make it a lifelong union. - 11 months ago

It appears all she had to do was hit the streets to find loser guys. The problem with the hit the streets interviews is any responses that don't fit what the interviewer is looking for can be edited out.
Professional women want guys who are more successful than they. Given 57% of college students are women the math doesn't work in favor of what they want. There are a lot of never married, professional women in their 40's.

haha i liked this segment and i think Erin Gibson is way pretty and smart so i can see my ideal image of a wife as her. However, the guys that are wanting those wives most of them are not up with par with their fantasy wives you had a guy missing teeth who wants a women looking like kate beckinsale then there is the guy who is fat, you want beautiful ladies you have to at least match up to the women.
Second, I would like a women to clean, cook and watch the kids as well but one thing they didnt mention is a wife who is fair, meaning you do half of the work and she does the other that sounds reasonable to me :)
