'Celebrity Apprentice' Gary Busey Makes Project-Management a No-Brainer

For his first few tasks on The Celebrity Apprentice, actor Gary Busey provided an expected amount of inexplicable gibberish metaphor. He's the comic relief with a lot of heart on Team Backbone, but in the words of Mark McGrath, the men's team decided to "stop handling him with kid gloves" and put Busey to the project-manager test during the newest challenge to advertise RVs during last Sunday's episode, "Unhappy Campers."

How To Project-Manage And Win Like Gary Busey

1. Give everybody money, even if you don't have it.
2. Play an impromptu game of night baseball.
3. ???
4. Profit for charity!!

He bumped heads with Lil' Jon early on in the episode. Mark McGrath then nearly had a panic attack when Busey decided to take a load off with Jose Canseco, and then briefly entertained using video evidence to get him fired later, which would have at least been a better ploy than Marlee Matlin’s unsuccessful attempt to get Dionne Warwick thrown out last week:

Luckily for Busey, it didn’t come to that. He's not very organized, and he will play catch instead of helping to set up a generator for the RV's night set-up, but he can do one thing well when it’s needed most. As Lil’ Jon announced in the middle of the episode, Gary Busey may be a terrible project manager, but he's a great actor. His dedication to describing Backbone's camping atmosphere and making sure each person who received a tour noted the plates and mustard in the cupboards helped sell Camping World’s brand in the end. His other teammates may have done all the heavy lifting, but it still ultimately goes down as a victory for Busey, proving that maybe he's something other than a wealth of confusing quotes for a video compilation.

Scratch that. Maybe he isn't only a wealth of quotes. He's also a wizard at turning ordinary words into motivational acronyms. (See: TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More.) Nothing but marketable skills for this guy.

Don't forgot to tune-in next week and catch Gary Busey playing a character who's a little better at organizing. Point Break premieres on Current TV Saturday, April 2 at 10/9c.

    • Point Break - I would love to catch Gary Busey playing a TBI character who's a little better at organizing?

Traumatic brain injury is common amongst homeless people and is associated with poorer health, Health problems include an increased risk of seizures, mental health problems, drug problems, and poorer physical and mental health status.

      National TBI Estimates
Each year, an estimated 1.7 million people sustain a TBI annually.1 Of them:

      52,000 die,
      275,000 are hospitalized, and
1.365 million, nearly 80%, are treated and released from an emergency department.

TBI is a contributing factor to a third (30.5%) of all injury-related deaths in the United States.1

About 75% of TBIs that occur each year are concussions or other forms of mild TBI.2

    • One must wonder How much of that is Brain Damage and How much is Show. I'm going with 60/40. I think He has a damaged brain that is doing the best it can with what it has to work with. But I can see the Showman useing that to his advantage.
