the route
Ewan and Charley circumnavigated the globe by motorbike over the course of more than three grueling months. Starting from London, their route covered over 20,000 miles, through Central Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, Alaska and Canada, and then into Montana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and finally New York City.

Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman met on the set of The Serpent's Kiss in 1997 and have since formed a strong friendship through their mutual passion for motorbikes, the freedom of the open road, and the adrenaline rush of an extreme challenge. After winning the British Superstock in 2000 with David Jeffries, the dream of a round the world bike adventure was born with Long Way Round.
