Ewan and Charley rush to visit UNICEF's Children of Chernobyl Project in Kiev. To make up for lost time on the road, they speed through cities and get pulled over by Ukrainian officers. When they finally make it to Kiev, UNICEF representative Ali Tilbe introduces Ewan and Charley to a myriad of children, all suffering illnesses caused by radiation exposure. Both men are touched by the joy in the children and find themselves missing their own families.
In "Long Way Round," Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman travel 20,000 miles through 13 countries -- riding from London through Eastern Europe and Russia, then flying to Alaska and continuing through Canada and the U.S. to end in New York City.
From being held at gunpoint in Kazakhstan to witnessing the majestic vistas of Mongolia, this series captures the spirit of friendship and adventure in a completely fresh way.
Watch "Long Way Round" on Current TV, Tuesdays at 9/8c.
