Refusing Hospitality and Facing Death Threats: Long Way Round

As Ewan and Charley ride through Russia and into Kazahkstan, they get several offers from locals to escort them during their travels. Ewan struggles with declining the company in order to preserve the solitary spirit of the trip. The attention doesn't stop as they approach Aktobe, their cameras this time drawing dangerous onlookers when passers-by threaten them with a gun.

In "Long Way Round," Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman travel 20,000 miles through 13 countries -- riding from London through Eastern Europe and Russia, then flying to Alaska and continuing through Canada and the U.S. to end in New York City.

From being held at gunpoint in Kazakhstan to witnessing the majestic vistas of Mongolia, this series captures the spirit of friendship and adventure in a completely fresh way.
