Women 'listen best to gossip and eavesdropping'

Despite what many women believe about man's ability to listen carefully, men actually are the better listeners according to a recent poll. Apparently two-thirds of women admitted that the only time they actually listen properly to what others are saying is when they're dishing out gossip or they've got their ear on someone else's conversation.
Of course the results of this poll are self-reported and so some might argue that they mean nothing. But what do you think? Are we a bunch of gossips or do we actually listen more closely than these results suggest?
