Yes, in the USA, "fanny" is just a silly, childish word for your butt.
In the UK, "fanny" is like saying "twat."
But funnily enough, in the UK, "twat" is a considered just a silly insult, not a vulgar word, the way it is in the US...
"you silly twat!"
