Most excellent! I read the Catcher in the Rye, and it was obviously a poke in the eye with a sharp stick to polite, upper crust WASP culture of the 1950's. Animal Farm was a great commentary on fascism, done in the form of a story of farm animals. The Quaran is a very violent book, condoning murder done in a religious context. Twilight? Never heard of it. But this young lady needs to be commended. However, when she starts passing out Lorraine Boettner's "Catholicism" or starts passing out Chick tracts, well, that's when I would lower the boom.

I love this kid! We need more people like him/her. Not only are most of the books on this list some of the best and most important books to read (in my opinion), but it's also refreshing to hear that there are still kids out there who love literature and go out of their way (and off of the computer) to find it.

1) why would they ban the Qu'ran?
2) why would they ban half those books? Seriously the catcher in the rye is a threat to young people... - 2 years ago

This kid deserves some serious kudos. Not just for running this make-shift library, but for having the guts to say what a lot of people are thinking: Twilight stinks.
