66-year-old Pamela Adeney gave birth to a baby boy, after concieving him via IVF treatment. Adeney is Britain's oldest new mother, and had to travel to Ukraine to receive IVF treatment as Britain does not allow women over 50 to have the procedure.

    • I'm not so sure I support the idea of having IVF at such an old age. I appreciate she wanted a child, but there are plenty of children without parents who need loving homes already. And 66 is quite old. Who's to say she's going to live past 70? She's setting her child up for losing his mother early.
The other thing that I have an issue with is the fact that she is post-menopausal and only because of science is she able to conceive. She defended her decision to have IVF, saying: 'It's not physical age that is important - it's how I feel inside. Some days I feel 39. Others, I feel 56.'
Uhm... IT IS physical age that is important. Menopause is nature's way of telling you your time to have children is over. Especially at 66.
