The Feather Flustered Stork

This is a hand-drawn, cut out animation made with color pencil on 11x14 paper. It was shot with a digital video camera with the program FrameThief, in order to link the animation with the sound. The walking figure was an actual drawing cut out and its joints were linked together by thin copper wire. During the close up, I made about 10 different mouths that I kept replacing in order to get the stork to look like he was really talking. For each new frame, I would take the previous mouth off and put in a completely new one. This took a lot of trial and error in order to get it look right. Now, aside from technicality, this animation is about a stork who is frustrated by the misconceptions that humans pin upon storks, so this particular, "feather flustered stork," speaks on their behalf. Enjoy!
