Sex Sells... Autism Awareness?!? (VIDEO)

abbym0308
The sex-sells formula for advertising is a pretty good one, but some might argue it's not always appropriate in every context. A former ad exec with an autistic son felt that misinformation about autism was being gobbled up by the public when sexy celebs like Jenny McCartney fed it to them. So, she made some more more sexy autism PSAs! But this time she starred in them herself and promoted what she considers to be truthful and accurate points.

* Every reputable study has failed to find a link between vaccines and autism.
* No special diet has been proven to cure autism.
* Learn about the dangers of unnecessary chelation treatments.
* Listen to self-advocates and learn about neurodiversity. Include the organized community of autistic adults when it comes to making legislation regarding their quality of life.

Think her versions are effective?

    • Well if you think this makes logical sense.

Jenny MacCarthy is basically the leader of the vaccines cause autism crap and she used to be a hot blonde so TONS of people listened to her despite her only being a college drop out (probably of Philosophy major too)

So why wouldn't the side that says vaccines have nothing to do with autism have a hot brunnette (currently hot I might add)

      Makes complete sense.

    • I don't know what causes it but has anyone thought maybe bad breeding. Way back when couples were Hitched by the elders. now you have all kinds of people breeding most of which should not even be able to but hey what do I know I'm just a fried out old burn out. Ya'll keep breeding and one day all we will have is freaks of nature

    • Here's the full archive of the videos.

I think it's a brave move by her, but if it raises awareness of Autism, then I don't really see it as that much of a bad thing. There's too much stigma surrounding the condition.
