Royal de Luxe, a French mechanical marionette street theater company, seems to have embraced the natural off-kilter feel of mannequins with their shows. Their latest production bears the title “Revolt of the Mannequins”. The sets and mannequins in the production are painstakingly detailed and serve as part of the story, which takes 10 days to play out. “In the ‘Revolt of the Mannequins’, 13 shop fronts in the city center are transformed into theatre stages, where the mannequins perform a 10-day play.
