These Christian youth claim that corporations, media conglomerates, and purveyors of popular culture have spent billions to seduce and enslave them. We go inside the world of Battlecry.com.

    • "stop making yourself look like a slut, 'cause that's just going to promote people to just going to want to rape you."
well said Burt. it's that kind of thoughtlessness that makes christianity look like a socially acceptable cult (apparently teaming with tempted rapists).

    • What I don't understand, oh faithful reader, is whether the argument is against the perceived morals of pop culture, or whether it's about the lack of faith in pop culture. The teens interviewed seemed to argue against pop culture simply because it was pop culture. "Throw off what they're feeding you," etcetera. If this is what their goal is, to be a faith-based group against modern media and popular culture's morality, what is their "battle plan" if their way of thinking becomes a fixture of pop culture? It seems like another front the religious right is launching to convert the youths, and seems like the message could be just as strong without saying "MTV supports rape." You don't have to chant "Jesus, clap clap clap" to be rebellious. This domestic missionary nonsense gets more and more absurd each year.

    • There is no god, these people are wasting their lives and they are all brain washed. If anyone believes in the BS they a ignorant. But if you are this person don't be sad because it's not your fault, your parents brain washed you from the time you were born. The morals are great but this is just sad. I feel sorry for these people because they will never believe anything else. BATTLE CRY ALLLAHALLLLAHALLLAH!

    • I just watched this on current tv a few moments ago and I must say that I am truly disturbed. It's sad to see that so many people are still so incredibly brainwashed by religion as if to think that believing in a higher power will solve all of their problems. The issue with this is that instead of watching television and forming their own opinion on whether something is immoral or not, they run into the arms of an organization which may or may not have their best interests at heart. I think which scares me the most is the simple fact that the elaborate concert at the end of this pod most likely was paid by our tax dollars to sponsor an ideal and belief structure on which I do not support.

    • Well, that's disturbing.

Times change, people don't. All this is is a war between two methods of control -- mainstream media and religion. The only true freedom is in thinking for yourself.
