Hood Games events are day long neighborhood block jams that unify neighborhoods and cross cultural boundaries. Pro-skateboarders, musicians, fashion designers, artists, and dancers perform alongside aspiring youth of all ages, ethnicities, and skill levels. Hood Games events provide an open canvas for youth expression and active participation is invited and encouraged. All Hood Games events, merchandise, and initiatives aim to enrich all communities and preserve bio-diversity and we choose sponsors that share these values.

    • Great piece on a great event doing thangs for a hood on hard times. Really captures the spirit of the bay area on many fronts.

Substance and style are part of this complete breakfast.

    • What really caught me about this story was the access to healthy food portion. One person says, "It shouldn't just be for a select group of people," and I agree. Your ZIP code doesn't define who you are or what you should be exposed to. In communities like the one where the Hood Games are hosted, a lot of supermarket chains won't set up shop. The people who live there are then forced to buy goods from local stores that don't carry the best or freshest items.
