    • I would honestly not be able to narrow it down to one artist. But I can say that Dallas Green has always touched me with his lyrics.

      Oh, and as for singer-songwriters, I'm generally not into that type of music. What about the likes of Matt Bellamy and Shiina Ringo, who sing the music they write?

      Other than that, perhaps Flight of the Concords is closest I get to the "singer-songwriter genre"...

      Michael Franti & Spearhead are the type of band, current tv should be promoting. For many, many reasons!

      How can one love living in Miami, yet cherish authenticity? (I am recalling info from an episode of "Still Up").

      I can second falling in love with Fleet foxes, I've downloaded some of their live shows - amazing use of chords and harmonies. The combo of instruments is outstanding !!

      I don't know if I would categorize the Fleet Foxes as singer-songwriters exactly, but they are one excellent band, no doubt about it. Very unique sound - and the more you listen the better it gets. The depth and texture in their songs is just amazing....
