The honour of being the most unhygenic Brits has gone to Bristol. Apparently they're the Brits who go for the longest without washing their hands. According to the survey of 4,000 adults, people from the south west town went for over 38 hours without washing their hands.
The survey found that nearly half (48 per cent) were unaware of the germs harboured by the Tube, trains, buses wand only just four in 10 washed their hands when they get to work or at the end of the day. Fewer than half (46 per cent) cleaned hands before dinner and only a quarter do so after playing in the park with their kids. More than four in 10 blokes didn't even clean their hands after car maintenance or DIY.
Who takes part in these surveys? Surely with all of the ads for swine flu where we can't move without being told to "catch it, bin it, kill it", I'm surprised that people can go for this long without washing their hands.
