Oh That Mahmoud

SuperNews
You, like many of us, may have been a little confused after watching a few watered down clips of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking to the students of Columbia University. Luckily the SuperNews team has recreated the President of Iran's speech for all of us who were lost in translation.

    • Bob Saget! I can't believe this satirical cartoon is utilizing exaggeration for the purpose of comedy! You're dead to me supernews, I'll get my knowledge of current events elsewhere.

    • These things could be researched better. Ahmadinejad never said he wanted to "wipe Israel off the face of the map." That''s just a wildly inaccurate paraphrasing that the media has irresponsibly repeated because it makes people scared.

    • I liked the Lee Bollinger takeoff, but the rest was lacking.

Agreeing with others here, the level of SuperNews quality is slipping.

    • If you looked at the audience of the actual speech, the majority consisted of religious Jews. They are the ones most invested in persuading America to invade Iran.

    • "SuperNews team has recreated the President of Iran?s speech for all of us who were lost in translation."?!?!?

So this is CURRENT now? This was a real STUPID manipulation of facts. Not even Fox News does something that manipulative.

    • Haha, that was pretty good. I'm glad that they were able to give some current issues while keeping it light. I would have like to see some serious answers worked into the "debate" with the comedy, but it was certainly entertaining. I agree that they went kind of easy on Columbia president Bollinger - but maybe they're not trying to make too many new enemies yet? Great job on getting a cartoon out that fast on such a current issue.

    • As a Columbia student, I gotta say I think you took it just a wee bit easy on Bollinger-I mean, I can understand that someone somewhere needs to be outspoken toward Ahmadinejad... but not the President/moderator of an academic institution that invited him on the pretense of encouraging open dialogue. Bollinger made it look like political grandstanding for the sake of not looking too encouraging for his guest. I'd like to see a few more digs on the worst Columbia president of all time, especially when he got caught up in a scandal concerning suppression of opinions in the Middle Eastern studies department.

    • Thank you for making fun of Columbia University president Lee Bollinger. I was shocked to see him give such a scathing introduction to Ahmadinejad after he invited him to speak on campus. It seems Bollinger caved in to the opposition instead of standing up as a University President and who allows people the opportunity to speak their mind, listen and make their own decisions.

    • In a movie directed by Josh Faure-Brac. Great title. This is, as usual, the best any media outlet has covered this story. Smart, funny and informative.
