Thanks SuperNews, Infomania and Campaign Update for making the last few years tolerable. I mean, if you can't laugh you'll just cry, so "laugh it out, bitch!"

      Washington, DC - January 19, 2009

President George W. Bush pardoned Vice President Dick Cheney this evening for "any and all crimes he may have committed in office," before resigning the presidency this evening at 11 pm EST.

After taking the oath of office, smirking only slightly at the phrase "defend the Constitution," President Cheney immediately pardoned former President Bush, then issued additional pardons to Scooter Libby, every other political appointee of the previous eight years, all defense contractors who have served in Iraq, and any executives who supervised them.

Questions as to the possibility of the incoming Obama Administration filing federal racketeering charges against Messrs. Bush and Cheney, for the apparent quid-pro-quo collusion of the mutual pardons themselves, were referred to the Attorney General-designate, Hillary Clinton.

    • It's hard to choose which is better, WTF or Thanks Dick...Dick does have the creepy edge. Bush is more the bumbling Laurel to his surreal Hardy. Watching these tributes does seem the proper way to observe through their leaving of office, though.

    • True story. I missed a job interview because of Dick Cheney.

I was interviewing for a position that was four dollars more than the one I currently have. It would have been a huge help for me preparing to go to college at the time. Dick Cheney came to town stopped traffic and made me miss the apointment.

What irked me even more than losing out on my job offer is that Cheney a draft dodger was coming to speak at our war memorial. I hae twenty relatives names enshrined there. An entire branch of my family gave thier lives in the first world war that the monument commemorates. I will never forget the words that are on the monument, "Patriotism means performing at your best no matter your circumstances or where you are in the world, your best represents the nations best." That the only definition I will ever accept. Cheneys sounds more like this, "Go Fuck yourself."
