    • Ok, I've got it all figured out. Everybody wants everything, right? I mean you exist, so you're entitled to food, water, a great job, health care, a sports car (or whatever else you'd like), a mansion in Beverly Hills, a private jet, vacation home in the Carribean, you name it. Problem is, all that stuff costs money and nobody wants to have to work for it. So how do we meet everyone's needs without anyone having to earn them. Simple, I call it the government solution. No, I don't mean have the government provide all these things! We don't need a middle man! Just let everyone do what the government would! Give everyone an unlimited line of credit with China and the right to print their own money! Problem solved, everyones a billionare, now go out and get all that shit you want! I think I'll call my system micro-keynesian economics, everyone will act as their own government, print or borrow all the money they need and stimulate their own individual economy. It's pure genius! I better copyright this idea before Paul Krugman steals it.

    • C'mon do gooders. He's been in office a whole year for crying out loud !

He should have been able to:

      (1) fix the global economic disaster singlehandedly,

      (2) exit both wars gracefully while leaving peace and democracy in complete control of both regions,

      (3) convince those who believe in death panels (and Glenn Beck), that a country can be responsible for providing affortable health care,

      (4) find and close secret prisons (yes, that's a good thing),

      (5) build a new industrial base while paying back an astronomical debt incurred by a previous administration, and,

      (6) put a job in every pocket, a car in every driveway, and a chicken in every pot.

This has been 365 days people !! He should have been able to take up knitting in his spare time.

    • well cleaning up after 8 years of shit left behind by Pres Dick Cheney is going to take more than a year for any person who is in office. Get me whats below, which FDR wanted in 1944 and I do not care who you are.

      1. A job with a living wage based on cost of living
      2. Freedom from unfair competition and monopolies
      3. Affordable home for all
      4. Universal Medical care
      5. Equal Education for all
      6. Vacations for all to see the country
      --------------------
I would add a six more:
      1. Abolish the two party system
      2. 8 consecutive years term limit in congress
      3. National Power Grid with power coming from Wind, Solar and Geothermal.
      4. Cars that get =100mpg city and travel more than 500 miles at a time and cost under $20k
      5. Build water purifiers at the mouth of most major waterways that enter the ocean to recycle and reuse water and to insure no pollutants enter oceans.
      6. High Speed trains from the west coast to east and North to South. With trains operating locally in every major city.

    • I agree that we should at least be more patient about it. We went from a stronger economy during the end of the Clinton years to a piss poor economy at the end of the Bush years. That's eight years, and not many people cared about it until the shit hit the fan. Now that we're in a bind it seems like we expect instant results, and too many of us don't realize that the real world doesn't work that way. This is not like wrecking your car and replacing it in a couple of weeks or getting a rental to get you around in the meantime. This is like getting really sick, needing surgery, and then going through therapy.
