Beginning today, the petro-billionaire brothers, David and Charles Koch, will launch $25 million worth of ads attacking President Obama in the key swing states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
I love this strategy. My only objection is that their front group — Americans for Prosperity — is spending all that money on TV commercials. David! Charlie! Have you looked at the numbers? If you just cut personal checks to each of the independent voters in those states, they could go to the polls, then immediately retire. Let’s eliminate the middlemen! People hate those commercials anyway. Just send the money to every voter directly and you can buy yourselves a landslide.
Heck, if the price is right, even my vote is for sale. Of course, since I’m on television and radio, we’d better be talking stock options …
