Mama says: Mommies are cool and Mitt is a tool!

If you’re anti-contraception, you’d better be pro-mom.

The Republicans are pumping up this phony controversy about whether motherhood is an actual job because they love anything that distracts voters from what they’re really trying to do: Turn back the clock to when the only working woman was Betsy Ross.

I said it on the show today — I believe that being a mother is hard work. Of course, I don’t say this from personal experience because I’m an elderly, bitter, childless, shut-in loser. What I do know is that my 89-year-old Republican mom has always told me how tough being a mother was. Up until now, I’ve always assumed she meant that all motherhood is hard work. Upon reflection, she may have just meant that being my mother was a nightmare. Did I mention I was bitter?

But seriously, Mitt knows more about canine care than he does about the difficulties women face in the workplace, especially when they’re also trying to raise kids. This all started because he said that he asks his wife about the issues that women face in the labor force. Maybe he was just confused by the question (What are the chances of that?) Maybe he thought he was being asked about labor, as in childbirth. After all they do have five kids, one of whom is named Tagg. Not since the Palin kids have we had Batman sound effects for children. Maybe the grandkids will continue the theme: “Thwack” Romney, “Pow” Romney, and adorable little “Zowie” Romney.

A girl can dream.
