Matthew Breen of the Advocate weighs in with Stephanie and John Fugelsang on Mitt Romney’s stance on gay rights versus President Obama’s. Stephanie says that Romney’s distaste for gay people is at times “palpable.” Fugelsang says, “I don’t think (Romney) is a homophobe. … He pretends to be a bigot to appeal to bigots.” Breen observes that the president talks about gay rights “as a civil rights issue.”
