Attacks on the Unarmed and Elderly: The Beat

MikeBunnell
Staff Sergeant Toby Hinton undergoes an extensive transformation to pose as an unassuming elderly man on the streets. With robberies and assaults on older addicts increasing, Downtown's beat officers feel they need to do something extreme to catch the offenders. Is sending Hinton in unarmed a necessary risk? Will the team be able to intervene quickly enough if something goes wrong?

In this gritty ten-part reality series, cameras follow the Beat Enforcement Team--a special police squad assigned to patrol an urban area suffering skyrocketing crime rates and rampant drug use. Attempting to juggle their dangerous jobs with their home lives, the officers commit to doing everything they can to clean up the dangerous streets and improve the lives of those in the community.

"The Beat" airs Mondays at 8/7c on Current TV.

    • Seargent Toby Hinton was my first foster parent when I was 13 yrs old and was a positive influence, talked me into going back to school. I am grateful for his time spent and was proud to see him making a difference in our lives. If Toby reads this contact me Im looking for a lost relative that was living on the streets on Vancouver.
