We look at the films coming out, then we try to pick a mix of big box office movies (Star Trek, Wolverine, etc) and smaller ones that seem interesting (Tyson, Sugar, Rudo y Cursi). Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't, but we always try to strike a balance. Sometimes we get a week in which the movies we review are all a stinking poop pile, yet such is life. And as is always the case when Hollywood fails me, I blame Ellen.

    • No 3 word reviews?

Since everyone else is putting their opinions in, I'll join in. I enjoy the show all around. For the people questioning why the movies picked are so poor, please point out a quality flick that's opened this month that wasn't reviewed. I do look forward to the big popcorn movie push (starting with Wolverine), until then we get the movies that aren't big enough to fight for $100 Million boxes or good enough to fight for Oscar nods.

    • why do you guys keep reviewing shitty movies? maybe it just seems that way because you're doing the opening mainstream movies for the week (I dont really know, I dont watch tv), I dont know. Its funny, but it would be a nice change of pace to hear what you guys actually appreciate every once in a while? Or maybe you have and Im just talking out of my ass cause I only watch this every once in a while.....where am I?

Maybe it's just 'cuzz most new movies suck? Which is why I rarely go any more these days.

In fact, it takes a lot to get me to go to the theatre (yes, I like to spell "theatre" the English way!). Even if it's a good (even great) movie, I'd usually rather wait until it comes out on Blu Ray, watch on my couch (where i can make it even louder than the theatre!), and own it for life.

I agree! This show suffers from a lack of good content. Criticism is nothing without discrimination. It starts to feel like one endless pan, which gets monotonous.

Show me a few movies that are edgy/ indie/ quirky or informative!

      17 Again?

Is Current trying to attract a new tween demographic? I thought MTV already had that audience cornered.

Brett Erlich is comic gold, but even he can't save this lackluster offering from mediocrity.

I understand that the show is still in its formative stages; perhaps with a few tweaks it will get better.
