Man, I missed the deadline. I was going to say The Tall Man from the Phantasm movies. I only started watching the first(Got half-way through) and haven't seen any of the others. I'm not even sure if he's human or not. Any Phantasm fans know??

For propagating a dystopian industrial despotism, caring more for his stolen pinto than for his son's death, and for his violent, ferocious, and truly menacing character, John Dickinson from "Dead Man" has got to be the meanest old man in movies.

Actually, R. Lee Ermey wasn't an old guy in this film. He was only 42 when he starred in this film. Still, he looked older than that in FMJ.

Walk Kowalski from Gran Torino. "Get off my lawn, you bunch of gooks." Just plain mean and hateful. That's why we love him.

For having countless films based upon the over-the-top-ness of how rude and grumpy he is, Scrooge is the meanest old man of them all. Bah humbug!

Ben kingsley, is not only grouchy and angry, is psychologically damage, and truly scary. he dosent fall as a cliche and becomes through out the film as a guy you must say yes in order for him not to kill you. in my opinion one of Kingsley's best and the meanest old guy ever
