I wish they would mention this is only a copy from one of the best French comedy ever, Le Diner de Cons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7Hqb6MKBvw&feature=related). I don't think even Steve Carell can pull it off as well as Villeret did.

It's completely different from the old one. They used an idea from the old one, and then ended up making their own movie script. The script is nothing like the old french movie, so I don't consider that copying. Dinner for Schmucks was a great movie. It had me laughing from start to finish.

ah, sadly, I don't parlez enough to understand that without English subtitles...Hollywood did this with Cage de les follies and it flopped in my opinion...and there is no way Steve Martin's modern day Cyrano de Bergerac was as good as the French version.
French cinema is wonderful. Bet you didn't expect that from a conservative, didya?!
but my favorite is still Pedro de Almodovar...true genius.
