Last episode!? Last episode?! There is not another entertainment review show that has been relevant like RTS in decades. The Rotten Tomatoes Show was original, inventive, and satisfying TV. It's ability to change the classic review a movie format and add comedy in way that made any movie (good or bad) they were talking about something to follow.
I only watched Current online and on TV for this show. It may sound petty but now that RTS is gone, there is no good reason to watch Current anymore.
The only reason that anyone I know who has watched Current is because they saw this show. For Current to cut this show out like this when it was still growing a real audience and sustaining a following that actually cared about the show, is out of touch for a network that claims to be very 'in touch' with it's audience.
There is many factors beyond the common viewer's perspective as to why this is happening, but it boils down to one central point: this is the wrong call to make.
Take time off and bring it back.
Fox did it with Family Guy, Current please do the right thing, and bring back RTS. - 1 year ago

For all it's self generated hype, television is not what it was 15 years ago. Maybe I keep to myself more now than then, but I do not hear anyone at work or family talk about Mad Men or Modern Family the way Seinfeld or the first years of ER were back then. The only exception is this show, I've been hearing people talk about this show. Sure it is one man's opinion, but it confounds me why some suits would want to give this up or mess with the formula.

@watcher1, I have no problems with the exuberance. But sometimes they just act juvenile. Like when they do sketches and wear cowboy hats, etc. I'm sure that may be entertaining to some, but I'm well over the age of 21 and it often just comes off as sophomoric shtick. Still, as I've said, it is often entertaining/creative and I've always enjoyed it, for the most part., and would like for it to stay around. I've signed the petition, although I doubt the suits will reconsider, since they did not seems to use much rational thought when they chose to cancel it. It's the closest thing to a "branded" show they have and they dump it??? Someone's head should roll.

What over-paid programming "genius" was behind this brilliant decision?!?!?! I had never heard of this channel and stumbled upon it due to this show. Sure, the hosts are painfully dumb, but it was a creatively produced program and the only thing I've ever watched all the way through on the channel. Buh-bye, currentTV...we hardly knew ye.

OK, so you have a show that offers both witty comedic hosts and a fine appreciation of film that continually shows through. Blend in nice spots where today's actors share their five favorite films and offer a unique viewpoint, and you have a pretty damn good show. Oh wait, another long-time film review show, "At The Movies," is canceled by Disney. Gosh, an opportunity to grow and gain more disenfranchised viewers! So the very best decision that can be made is CANCELLING this show! Wow, now that's incredibly well thought out and taking advantage of an audience segment that's being dropped in your lap. I thought Current was all about smart, intelligent programming. Guess that I was wrong.

WHAT?! I cannot believe this amazing show is coming to an end. I have been impressed by everyone's efforts on the RT show since day one. The quality of the show only grew with time. Sure, i would have liked it if the web-cam reviews had stayed, but i was still very happy with the show up to this point. It's hilarious! There is no way that a short Infomania segment will be a good idea. The longer the RT segment is, the more it will unbalance the flow of Infomania. RT is it's own show, and so is Infomania. This deci$ion baffles me.
Anyways, I'd like to give a huge thanks to everyone who worked on the show for all the great entertainment. Good luck in the future!

Well that sucks
I found this show through RT.com randomly one day and was HOOKED after one episode. I watched every episode through current.com after that first viewing and thanks to Ellen/Bret and everyone else behind-the-scenes, my knowledge of films (namely, history of) has expanded immensely. And you did it while making me laugh!
imunbalanced's concerns/observations are spot-on. Concerning Ellen: after watching a good amount of episodes, Ellen's dead-pan humour and overall laid-back personality is a perfect match opposite the all-so-lively, always-smiley, happy-go-lucky Brett. After a few episodes she grew on me. The duo made the show.
The duo's chemistry goes unmatched against the poor decisions made by Current's suits. From the nixing of viewers' podcasts, to scaling back 'shots' at filmmakers/studios/actors, to adding INSANELY LONG segments such as '...in 3 minutes or less' -- the cancellation of the show didn't come as a surprise. I identified with people who sent in video reviews and always looked forward to that segment; I'd often shake my head laughing at the superb editing done throughout and, still, to this day, am baffled it's gone.
I always felt 'The Rotten Tomatoes Show' was about staying true to its viewers in that it was more about setting up the snappy dialogue, witty comments and unrelenting fearlessness of targeting big-named actors/directors to hold them accountable for poor film making. Is it just me or did that fire fade as each new episode aired? As 'imunbalanced' said earlier about "allow[ing] the show to be organic" -- those are the best words to describe the demise of the show; it didn't have time to grow and it ultimately withered away due to (what felt like was forced) newer 'fresher' segments pushing out the solid material.
The infrastructure was there. The chemistry of the hosts remains even to the last thirty-seconds of the show. But, 'The Rotten Tomatoes Show' was missing that one 'big-gun' to truly reel viewers in. Podcasts were a start. Having full-time critics, regardless of how many you cram in, just feels ... formulaic. The knowledge is much appreciated as long as it is peppered (lightly, mind you) throughout. If i wanted a critics' point-of-view I'd read Ebert or Armand White (haha not really, but you know what I mean!) -- I watched 'The Rotten Tomatoes Show' for it's strong intellect on films, unique delivery of reviews and oddball segments.
Please, please, pleaaaaaaaase reevaluate the decision of implementing this half-hour show into a SEGMENT (?!?!?!?!) of 'infoMania', Take some months off, get refreshed and come back even stronger.

I've got to say that I totally understand why they are getting rid of this show. Money is the biggest denominator, obviously, but why??? Because RT was so terribly scripted! I HATED having to sit through all the segmented and scripted bullshit just to get to the reviews which was the entire reason I was watching. I love RT.com and thought this was a great concept and appreciated the viewer comments, but as I'm sure handing out monetary incentive was a bad idea if the show itself wasn't producing enough of a profit, that too had to be sliced. And can we ALL just admit that Ellen Fox is BEAUTIFUL but is frankly just NOT funny. I find her attempts at punches always flat which is why, if anyone else hasn't noticed this, Ellen is almost always the one to set up the joke and Bret has to deliver the punch since she typically always fails. I think I've laughed at her maybe once or twice but I can remember getting insulted from time to time at her commentary. Even Bret, who I know everyone loves including myself, gets aggravating when I feel his creativity is being boxed in soo rigidly to fit the confines of this shows formatting. If they hope to continue this show on infomania, which is not doing so hot either (modern lady anyone?), I beg of you current do the one last decent thing you can and allow the show to be organic and then you might see some turn around.

Say whaaaaatttt?!? This had better be a temporary hiatus, or as other suggested, making Infomania an hour long and giving Erlich and Fox a good 10-15 minutes or so. I've told my friends at work that this is a great movie review show and now you're pulling the carpet out from under us?? WHY?!? The show can't cost that much to produce. I really don't get what's going on with Current. As others have commented, Current was built on the principle of community participation. They stopped the pods, they stopped the participatory aspects of Rotten Tomatoes, and now they're just stopping Rotten Tomatoes altogether. Is this a grand experiment in how to get people to watch less television? Is it safe to assume Infomedia's days are numbered? It was nice knowing you, Current.

This is my favorite show ever! I can't believe your taking this wonderful show off the air!! There aren't any other good movie review shows out there! The Rotten Tomatoes Show needs to remain its own show and bring back User Reviews, more Buck Smithy and Haiku Review! (And even though they took away user reviews, buck smithy and haiku review it was still F'n Awesome!)
The only way I see not being upset by the matter is if Infomania is turned into an hour long show, giving Rotten Tomatoes 22-23 of air time. I don't know whose idea it was to take it off the air but it was a bad one. Please fix it and keep The Rotten Tomatoes Show on the air where it belongs!

This sure comes off as an ill conceived move made by someone using the shot in the dark method of program directing. It would sure be interesting to know what the back story is here. The last movie review show in syndication just bit the dust about a month ago, so you had the whole field to yourself. Why would you quit now? ..and as I pointed out before, your format was so much better than the tired old two bespectacled old white guy hash.
I don't know about ratings, but I will tell you I never would have watched any of the other shows on Current if it were not for this one. Most of the other stuff has far too narrow a demographic to maintain a network.
You really need to explain this...or better yet reverse it. Put the damn thing back on.

I registered for the first time just to express my profound disappointment (and to whine).
Brett, Ellen- I love your show!! In fact it is one of the few things my middle school-age daughter agree on and we looked forward to watching it together every week. Thanks to you guys, my girl is a budding film buff and we watch many of the films you recommend together. We liked the show's format better, but we enjoyed it even without the community reviews. I'm glad you won't disappear all together (knock wood), but we're really going to miss the show.
I hope you keep the video clips and past episodes on the website. I really hope we'll see new Rotten Tomatoes Show eps in the future, even if it is just a web show.

God I hope this is because you F***ed with the way you reviewed movies and that change ruined the whole show. To be sitting on what could have been the next Go To movie show and then screw the pooch by crapping on the MO that got the show going in the first place is so very delightful and poetic.

Is Brian available to do a segment because this canceled business is gay.
(Hulk out)
Ahhhh!!! BTW can I return my Mindfreak kit that I didn't buy, or any of the other crap I'm not interested in that plays during commercial breaks! really current, who do you think your demographic is, people that just finished watching Jersey Shore and are looking for a show about tanning or convertibles!!!

. ...I'm sorry Current I didn't mean that, it's just that sometimes you confuse me... and not in that good way like when Brett glances at you and bites his lower lip...Oh and I second the Super News comment, what happened to it! Another smart and funny show gone for no reason.
